ThankYouDisneyA Thank You to Disney

We would like to express our sincere gratitude that you continue to be a wonderful theme park and responsible corporation that opens its doors to all guests, regardless of sexual orientation, skin color, socioeconomic status, or age.

While groups, such as One Million Moms, are launching campaigns to try to bully you into discriminating against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, we admire your willingness and determination to keep an open doors policy that allows everyone to be part of the magic at Disney World.

The LGBT community has long been huge supporters and valuable employees of Disney World and will continue to be.  We have been welcomed to your park and have always felt safe and secure on your grounds. The LGBT community and its supporters draw tens of thousands of visitors to Disney World each year. It is time that groups like One Million Moms stop trying to bully Disney into discriminating based on the group’s anti-gay message and motivation.

While Gay Days is not a sanctioned-Disney event, we always feel welcomed at the park on this special day and throughout the year and don’t expect this to change because of a homophobic group who is encouraging you to discriminate against the LGBT community.

As Florida’s Largest Gay Publications, and the voice of gay Florida, we would officially like to thank you for being a corporate leader that does not tolerate discrimination in any form. We salute you for recently naming a gay man as CEO of Walt Disney World, and for allowing him to live his life without fear for his job, despite the fact that Florida remains one of the 29 states in this country where he could be fired just for being gay. We know that Walt Disney World is the place where dreams come true, and you have taken steps to ensure that everyone’s dream is welcome at your parks. Thank you Disney.

Sincerely,

Ian Maloney
