One day, a group of about 12 pretty lipstick lesbians shopped at MC Film. They were all wearing the same black backpacks. The whole group was having fun, laughing, joking and buying things. We could not figure out who was with whom. We just had to ask.

“You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up…”

One day, a group of about 12 pretty lipstick lesbians shopped at MC Film. They were all wearing the same black backpacks. The whole group was having fun, laughing, joking and buying things. We could not figure out who was with whom. We just had to ask.

”What was this group all about?” The girls all laughed and said, “You’re not going to believe this but…” They all worked together on a oil tanker ship!  The ladies told us four of them were originally hired. Then as openings became available, they called each other. The ship’s captain says it’s the best and most fun crew he has ever had!

Three Cheers, Tampa Police Department and Photographer Too

This great story and photo was posted on the Tampa Police facebook page.

Around noon today, Officer Doug Bailey responded to a West Tampa student’s call after her bike was stolen. She left it for just a few minutes without locking it and that’s all it took for the criminal. She had a photo of her bike’s serial number and Officer Bailey put out a BOLO with the serial number and description. ROC Officer Keith Carlson spotted a group of guys standing around the bike about a mile away. Since none of them were actually riding it, officers couldn’t prove they took it, but the student was happy to get her bike back.

As a side note, there was another bicycle next to her stolen bicycle, which no one from the group claimed. Officers suspect that bike was stolen too, but it isn’t registered in our bike registry program, so we don’t know who it belongs to. Make sure to register your bike with TPD so we can return it should you ever become a victim.

Out & About Tampa Bay: La Cascada Mexican Restaurant

Take a South of the Border culinary adventure right here in Tampa on Armenia Avenue. La Cascada Mexican Restaurant is true authentic Mexican food.  They think it’s a great honor to be voted the best Mexican restaurant in Tampa Bay!

The music was true mariachi style and upbeat the day we visited. The tablecloths were brightly-dish lastcolored. The menu consists of all homemade Mexican classics. They specialize in fresh seafood dishes but they have a full menu. The chips were warm and the salsa was just the right heat. We tried the gulf shrimp with caramelized onions that came with salad, beans and rice. Simply fresh, plentiful and delish!

We have so many great Central and South American restaurants to choose from here in the area. This place is a Tampa hit!

The colorfully dressed staff really takes pride in helping out customers with great service.

It is located at 5004 North Armenia Avenue between MLK and Hillsborough Avenue.
