Quench Lounge (13284 66th St. N., Largo) is celebrating its first full year in business, and as a thank-you to its loyal customers, they will be throwing a first anniversary “Winter White Party.” The party will start at 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, and will go on until bar close.

People are asked to wear their finest winter white outfits for a chance to win some great prizes. DJ Bruce Devery, a reporting DJ for Billboard Magazine and Quench’s resident DJ, will be spinning Top 40 hits and some of his favorite songs all night long. For those of you who like a little (or a lot) of eye candy, there will also be sexy male dancers gyrating in a little bit of white (and not much else!) from 9 p.m. onward.

Hotspots got a chance to talk to Quench’s bar manager, Jeff Beadle, about its success and what’s in store for customers in 2014.

What was the one moment you were most proud of from the past year Quench has been in business?

There were so many stand-out moments this year (winning several “Best of…” awards, etc.), but for me, without a doubt I would say it was our “Turnabout” event. I saw our entire team come together and put on one hell of a show for our packed house. That night we saw support from every corner of the LGBT community in Tampa Bay, and the cherry on top? Money was raised for two extremely worthy charities.

Are there any special events you’re planning in the future that we should know about?

Yes! There are so many exciting things to look for in year two. Here are some:

A HUGE Super Bowl Party (Feb. 2), on Valentine’s Day we’ll present “The Red Party” with so many fun elements, as well as offering a “sneak peek” of our new all-male revue that will premiere the following Thursday (Feb. 20).

For people who haven’t gone to Quench yet, what would you like them to know about the bar?

The one thing I’d like people to take away is that Quench Lounge is a fun, chill, friendly all-welcoming gay bar. Not only do we want to show you and your friends a great time on a daily basis, but we want you to consider us as your venue for any and all LGBT groups and events, as well as our straight allies.
