One of Central Florida’s newest nightspots, The Brink (47 W. Amelia St., Orlando) has earned a very loyal clientele over the past two years. The downtown Orlando hotspot celebrates its second anniversary in business with two special parties, their popular “W.T.F. Wednesdays” and “Foreplay Fridays.” The anniversary parties will be held on Wednesday, March 5, and Friday, March 7. Special guests will celebrate this honor alongside the favorites that have made The Brink as successful as it is.

On Wednesday, March 5, doors open at 9 p.m. for the second anniversary edition of “W.T.F. Wednesdays.” Cover is free before 11 p.m. Join your hosts Ginger Minj and Kitana Gemini for a night of fun. Music will be provided in two separate areas by Ants and DJ Daggett. At midnight, Ginger Minj and Kitana Gemini will host their weekly amateur strip contest, with a $100 cash prize. The special guest this evening is Sasha Colby, the former Miss Continental who is perhaps best known for her appearances at fellow Orlando haunt Revolution Nightclub.

On Friday, March 7, doors open at 9 p.m. for the second anniversary edition of “Foreplay Fridays.” Get in before 10:30 if you want to skip cover. Free LED glow sticks will be given out at the door. Ants, Arsonists and Edil Hernandez will be providing the music in various rooms, ranging in genre from Top 40 to hi-NRG. The special guest is drag legend Tasha Long, who has won numerous titles, such as Miss Black America, Miss Black Universe, Miss Continental and Miss EOY.

The Brink, in addition to giving Central Florida’s LGBT community another place to party, also likes to give back to the community. Just in the first two months of 2014, The Brink has hosted benefits in January for the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida, the area’s leading HIV/AIDS service organization, and in February for The Gathering Center, a community center/safe space for LGBT people under the age of 30. When Hotspots talked to W.T.F. Wednesdays mainstay Ginger Minj with regard to the Hope and Help benefit in January, she responded, “To see a company like The Brink that has the ability to reach so many people take up a cause that means so much to me is a beautiful thing!”

If you’d like to attend The Brink’s anniversary parties, free parking is available for customers. Parking is available in the Firestone lot at 42 W. Concord St.
