Los organizadores del Florida AIDS Walk y Festival de Música continúan la tendencia reciente de traer de nuevo los años 80 al sur de la Florida y han anunciado que el grupo de rock “The Go Go’s” encabezará su evento de 2014.

The organizers of the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival continue the recent trend of bringing the 80’s back to south Florida and have announced that the rock group the Go Go’s will headline their 2014 event.
The Go-Go’s preside over an amazing three-decade reign as high pop priestesses. The internationally loved pop hitmakers helped cement the foundation of the early 80’s pop-rock sound. Led by Belinda Carlisle, the band made history for writing and performing their own music.
This year, The Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival will take place on Sunday, March 30th, at South Beach Park on Fort Lauderdale Beach (just North of the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort). Like the 2013 event, the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival is a 5K walk along the beach, followed by food, drinks, and dancing to “The Beat” in the sand with The Go Go’s.
The money raised by Florida AIDS Walk supports the services provided by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and several other beneficiary organizations that are chosen each year. 100% of every dollar raised remains in Florida, to provide direct services to its residents who are affected by HIV/AIDS.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is the largest global AIDS organization, and has been providing HIV testing, condom access, treatment and care for those living with HIV/AIDS, and political advocacy for over 25 years. The Foundation’s services reach more than 250,000 clients of all ages around the globe, and more than 1 million people were tested for HIV by the Foundation’s global branches in 2013, with those who tested positive having immediate access to counseling, care, and treatment.
When asked about the event, Mark Martin of AIDS Healthcare Foundation said: “This year we will have DJ’s, food trucks, bars, and a dance floor. It’s not your run of the mill fundraising walk, it’s going to be a real party out on the beach. As important as it is that we raise awareness that the HIV crisis is still in full effect, we want to celebrate the heroes in the battle against AIDS, those who give of their time and money to help those who are living with HIV and we just want to celebrate life.”
