We’ve sprung forward and spring is within reach! Everyone knows how brief spring weather is in Florida, so I hope everyone gets to enjoy it while we can because soon enough we will be trudging our way through six months of humid summertime air. Be sure to see the column next week because I’ll be able to tell you all about Equality Florida’s Lobby Days in Tallahassee! I’m glad I got to participate this year for the first time. Hamburger Mary’s in Clearwater is ushering in some fun weekend-style entertainment…on a weeknight! Thrilling Thursdays stars show director Alicia Markstone, joined by Jocelyn Summers, Dena Cass and Trinity Taylor. Friday March 14
Florida drag legend Tiffany Arieagus comes up to Tampa for a two-night engagement at Bradley’s on 7th. Her first appearance is tonight with Joey Brooks at 11:30 p.m. and then again at 1:15 a.m. If you can’t come tonight, she will be performing tomorrow night at the same times.
Saturday March 15
Grindr parties are always popular events at Parliament House in Orlando, and it’s time for another one. Show the Grindr app downloaded on your smartphone and you get free admission inside the complex. Remember, the Footlight Players’ shows are at 10 p.m. and midnight.
Are you man enough to compete in the Mr. Sawmill Lumberjack competition at Sawmill Resort in Dade City? It’s part of their lumberjack weekend which kicked off on Thursday. $500 in cash goes to the winner who exhibits the most brawn. For more information, call (352) 583-0664.

It’s that time of year again at Georgie’s Alibi in St. Petersburg…the annual Miss Georgie’s Alibi pageant is here! Tiffany McCray will crown her successor at the end of this event. Kori Stevens will be the hostess on this special night. The competitors will be judged in the following categories: themed presentation (“Luck of the Irish”), talent, evening gown and on-stage Q&A. Come cheer the girls on; the show starts at 8!

Tuesday March 18
Have you been to Take It Back Tuesdays at the Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg? If you like some classic hits and groovy fun, this is the night for you. Music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s will be playing all night long, and prizes will be given out to people who are wearing the best ’70s and ’80s attire.
Tapas Tuesday at Ceviche at Orlando’s Church Street Station is a “must-eat” culinary adventure. Recently they have added new tapas to their discounted Tuesday menu, so you can enjoy even more delicious Spanish options for less! One new item I recommend is the “pollo al Jerez,” grilled and marinated chicken breast topped with pesto, served with a sherry cream sauce!
The newly-crowned Miss Mardi Gras Esme Russell hosts the Rising Star talent competition every Tuesday night at GBar in Tampa. The winner gets $50 and an invitation to come back and perform one more time as a paid entertainer! Doors open at 9 p.m.
