We are getting close to the end of Season 6 of Ru Paul’s Drag race and with only 6 contestants left, anybody can get eliminated. Well anybody except my beloved Bianca Del Rio. As you all know she has been my favorite from day 1. The mini Challenge this week was a body painting challenge, and Bianca won and the main challenge was a makeover challenge where the “gurls” originally thought they had to make over brides for their wedding, but Ru had a twist and it was the grooms they had to make into their drag daughters for their nuptials. Ben was a close second, but it was Bianca who nailed another challenge and won a trip to Hawaii (Did I mention I have never been to Hawaii?). Joselyn and Adore were in the bottom 2, and although Adore took her shoes off (a no-no when it comes for lip synching for your life) she killed it and was saved. It was really great to sit down and interview the bubbly and always perky Joslyn.

At what age did drag become an interest & how did you pick your name?

When I was very little I wore my mom’s clothes and make-up. When I was 20 I started DJing at a drag show and I got jealous of the girls. It was a very short time later that I started doing drag.

I had picked a name that was really bad and I was told before my first show that it wouldn’t work. One queen said I looked like a Joslyn, which happens to be my real last name. Fox came from a friend who said you look like a stone cold fox and I like the way it describes enigmatic sexiness and I took it as my last name.

How many times did you apply to be on RPDR and how did it feel when you found out you got chosen?

This was my 4th time auditioning, so by the time I was making this audition tape it was second nature to me. It became a group effort between my fiancé and my friends. This time I was kind of expecting it, as I convinced myself it was going to happen

Tell me about your RuPaul’s Drag Race experience?JoslynFox

It was a whirlwind. A lot is thrown at us, but there is a camaraderie even though it is a competitions. It was kind of like jumping inside the TV set. I felt that I grew a lot as I got to challenge myself every week. It was also a lot of fun. Every day I miss being there.

How are you going to leverage your time on Drag Race?

A platform like this is great exposure. I just needed to be put out there so the world can know who I am and I can leave my mark. This is an exciting time for me as this is just the beginning.

Who do you want to win?

My opinion has changed so much since leaving the show and watching it up until last night. I don’t think anyone deserves it more than Bianca Del Rio does, and she really is the whole package. She is just a good person!

Tell me about the man behind Joslyn?

Joselyn is just an extension of myself, Patrick. I don’t have a character. I am a fun bubbly persona and I try to think of others before myself. I love nothing more than entertaining people as everyone else’s good time is my good time.

I think we all had a tears in our eyes when your boyfriend proposed to you. Did you get married yet?

Andre and I are planning a wedding, but now my life is a bit hectic. However, we are going to set a realistic date.

Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you.

I am such an open book, but what people don’t know about me is that I am a really good writer. I find it very easy to express myself in words.

What’s ahead for Joslyn?

Hopefully everything. I would love to be that person that delves into anything that is presented to her. I love drag because you can do it all. I would love to write a book. I am so looking forward for the future.
