From the Desk of Joe Marcella

“Stop the madness. Mekka is not closing. When we move, we will make the announcement. In the meantime, continue to enjoy Mekka and Discotekka.

We are not part of any other clubs. The original La Puta Nota party is and will always be in the Discotekka room. Our after parties at Mekka will continue as usual. Some clubs and promoters are spreading rumors that we are closing. I will assure you that we are not.

I have made a lot of friends in Miami, and I love every one of you, just as you love Mekka. I just wanted to put it out there for all you guys to help me stop the negativity. Join our guest-list, call 305-371-3773 or visit MekkaMiami.com. We are open!”

whsf copyTanner Cohen (Were The World Mine) stars as a shy college student who invents a fake documentary project to get close to Go (Matthew Camp), a NYC go-go dancer he is infatuated with in Getting Go, The Go Doc Project, which recently arrived on DVD from Wolfe Video. A hybrid between a documentary and narrative film, director Cory Krueckeberg captures a unique look on modern dating and the classic story of lust becoming love – and then some. The film focuses on Doc (Cohen), who is too shy to introduce himself to Go, a go-go dancer he develops a cyber crush on. Doc devises a plan to shoot a documentary about the NYC nightlife scene and enlists the help of Go, following his subject across the city and ultimately chronicling their developing relationship. Getting Go, The Go Doc Project also stars Ramon Olmos Torres, Judy McLane and Tedd Merritt.

Getting Go, The Go Doc Project won the Special Jury Award at the Toronto Inside Out Film Festival and the Best Men’s Feature at the North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. The film received an honorable mention at the Seattle LGBT Film Festival and was named Best LGBT Film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Getting Go, The Go Doc Project has a runtime of 91 minutes, is not rated and is available form WolfeVideo.com. Bonus features include a Q&A with the filmmaker plus a Photo Gallery: “Getting Matthew Camp”
