Lori Lynch, directora ejecutiva del LGBT Visitor´s Center, nos explica sobre los Premios Pink Flamingo, un beneficio para el Centro de Visitantes LGBT, ubicada en 1130 Washington Ave de Miami Beach. Este es el segundo año que presentan los premios Pink Flamingo a los mejores negocios, lugares, personas, y organizaciones dedicados a la comunidad LGBT.
¿Qué va a ser diferente este año, la segunda vez?
Bueno, este año los Premios Pink Flamingo será un asunto de noche con espectáculos en vivo y un montón de sorpresas divertidas. Estamos muy entusiasmados de estar de vuelta en el Centro de Convenciones de Miami Beach y estamos deseando dar la bienvenida a toda nuestra comunidad a este evento maravilloso.
¿Qué le gustaría decir a nuestros lectores sobre los premios?
Los Premios Pink Flamingo benefician el Centro de Visitantes LGBT que es financiado y operado por la Fundación MDGLCC, Inc., la Fundación sin fines de lucro de la Gay & Lesbian Cámara de Comercio de Miami Dade. Este es el único evento para recaudar fondos que hacemos durante todo el año, así que usted puede imaginar lo mucho que nos fijamos para el apoyo de nuestra comunidad por su gran éxito.
El segundo anual “Pink Flamingo Awards” honran: personas, lugares y organizaciones que han demostrado un nivel de excelencia en nuestra comunidad durante todo el año. El programa de premios de este año promete ser un gran espectáculo de entretenimiento con el comediante ANT como el maestro de ceremonias de la noche. La entrega de premios de este año incluirá una recepción cóctel con bar abierto y subasta silenciosa seguida de una cena de 3 platos y entretenimiento en vivo.
¿Cómo ha sido la respuesta hasta ahora?
¡La respuesta hasta ahora ha sido fenomenal! Los 5 finalistas en cada categoría fueron anunciados oficialmente Viernes, 29 de agosto y la última ronda de la votación ha comenzado. Cuéntanos un poco más sobre el centro de visitantes y su misión.
El Centro de Visitantes LGBT da la bienvenida a miles de visitantes internacionales / nacionales durante todo el año y sirve como un importante centro de actividad para nuestra comunidad local. Nuestro objetivo es servir, educar y enriquecer nuestra comunidad y quienes la visitan.
En el último año hemos trabajado diligentemente con 19 organizaciones LGBT en relación con mejorar nuestra reputación como una ventanilla única para la información y los recursos a disposición del público. La Fundación MDGLCC, Inc. opera el Centro de Visitantes LGBT y existe para apoyar los esfuerzos de difusión de educación, viajes y turismo para la MDGLCC.

This is the second year that they have presented the Pink Flamingo Awards to the best of the best in businesses, places, people, and organizations that are dedicated to the LGBT community.
What will be different this year, the 2nd time around?
Well, this year Pink Flamingo Awards will be an evening affair with live entertainment and lots of fun surprises! We’re so excited to be back at the Miami Beach Convention Center and can’t wait to welcome our entire community to this wonderful event!
What would you like our readers to know about the awards?
The Pink Flamingo Awards benefit the LGBT Visitor Center which is funded and operated by the MDGLCC Foundation, Inc., the non-profit Foundation of the Miami Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. This is the only fundraiser we do all year, so you can imagine how much we look to our community’s support for its great success!
The 2nd annual “Pink Flamingo Awards” honor people, places and organizations that have demonstrated a level of excellence in our community throughout the year. This year’s awards show promises to be an entertainment extravaganza featuring the comedian ANT as the evenings Emcee! This year’s awards ceremony will include an open bar cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a 3 course sit down dinner and live entertainment.
How has the response been so far?
The response so far has been phenomenal! The 5 finalists in each category were officially announced Friday, Aug. 29th and the final round of voting has begun. Tell us a little more about the visitor´s center and its mission.
The LGBT Visitor Center welcomes thousands of international/domestic visitors throughout the year and serves as a major hub of activity for our local community. Our goal is serve, educate and enrich our community and those who visit.
Over the last year we have worked diligently with 19 LGBT related organizations to further our reputation as a one stop shop for information and resources available to the public.
The MDGLCC Foundation, Inc. operates the LGBT Visitor Center and exists to support the education, travel and tourism outreach efforts for the Miami Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
