Cocktails for Compass is the largest fundraiser for Compass, and as such, luminaries in Palm Beach County’s LGBT community, as well as allies, all come together to raise money for the gay and lesbian community center. This fundraiser has been held annually since 2003, and the gala has grown in size and scope with each passing year. This year the gala will be held on Monday, December 15 at 7 p.m. at Club Colette (215 Peruvian Avenue, Palm Beach).
The Cocktails for Compass gala is designed to recognize the top donors to Compass for the past year, outline local and statewide LGBT rights successes for the past year, and acknowledge the work still left to do in honor of the Palm Beach County LGBT community.
PNC Wealth Management in Palm Beach is a major sponsor of this event, and due to their generous donation, all proceeds raised from other ticket sales will go straight to Compass and all of the services it offers.
ABOUT COMPASS
Compass, the gay and lesbian community center of Palm Beach County, has been in operation since 1992, and was born out of the efforts of the Stop AIDS Project. Compass’s mission is “to diminish stereotypes by challenging long-standing misconceptions about the character of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community…Compass promotes awareness of the caring nature of our diverse community.” The community center is located at 201 N. Dixie Highway in Lake Worth.
