Winter is the perfect time to relax on a nice cruise, and the people involved with Cruising with Pride have put together a kitschy, fun experience everyone is sure to enjoy. Starting on January 1, the Carnival Cruise ship “Victory” will leave the Port of Miami for four days of fun in the sun. Don’t forget movie time: your cruise directors are bringing along your favorite gay cult classics, too! This is the first annual “Classic Gay Film Festival at Sea.”

Sea-FilmFest_copy1On January 1, the ship will leave the Port of Miami with stops in Key West (with free day passes to the Island House resort) and Cozumel, Mexico. While at sea, the Cruising with Pride group will be showing five classic gay films: the Faye Dunaway classic Mommie Dearest; the romantic comedy Trick; the Heath Ledger/Jake Gyllenhaal period drama and love story Brokeback Mountain; the British coming of age drama Get Real; and the fairest and campiest of them all, the Australian comedy Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. There will be a cash bar and free popcorn at all five movie showings. There will be one movie shown each day except for the day at sea between Key West and Cozumel, when a double feature will be presented.Sea-FilmFest_copy2
