In celebration of its 10th season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is proud to announce seven new shows for its 2015-2016 Live at Knight series.

The Live at Knight series opens with Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club’s (October 22, 2015) “Adiós Tour” (farewell) featuring new music from their latest album Lost and Found. Grammy Award-winning rock singer/songwriter Chris Cornell continues the season with a powerful acoustic concert as part of his “Higher Truth Tour” (October 29, 2015). Legendary comedian and “The Late Show with David Letterman” regular Brian Regan (December 11, 2015) also continues the season and brings the laughs with his side-splitting stand-up show.

Infamous cult filmmaker John Waters will put the X in Xmas with his critically acclaimed one-man show, A John Waters Christmas (December 14, 2015); while Disney in Concert “Magical Music from the Movies” (December 27, 2015) enchants South Florida fans with iconic movie scores and stunning film visuals during a full orchestral concert.

Alternative rock singer/musician and reggae rapper Matisyahu returns to the Arsht Center (December 29, 2015) with his “Live at Stubb’s 10 Year Anniversary Tour.” Previously announced Live at Knight shows include world-renowned a cappella group Straight No Chaser (November 22, 2015); and The Tenors, a JUNO Award-winning, Billboard crossover chart-topping vocal group, who will perform original hits and familiar favorites from their new album Under One Sky (February 3, 2016).

Now in its fourth consecutive season, the Live at Knight series offers a wide variety of world-class shows encompassing the best in world music, orchestral symphonies, comedy, rock, pop,hip-hop and more. All performances will take place in the Center’s acoustically superb John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall. Additional Live at Knight shows will be announced later in the season.

Grammy Award-winning Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club is set to bid farewell with their “Adiós Tour” after 16 years of thrilling audiences worldwide. The group has been touring the globe, in different forms and combinations, since 1997. They will take to the road one final time with a series of concerts and related cultural events that will celebrate the Orquesta’s storied journey as ambassadors of Cuban music.

Chris Cornell will treat South Florida fans to a powerful acoustic concert featuring songs from his highly-anticipated forthcoming new album as well as solo hits and favorites from Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden and Audioslave. A pioneer of the ‘90s grunge movement as a singer and songwriter for Soundgarden, Chris Cornell is considered one of the best voices in music history.

Straight No Chaser (SNC), a world-renowned all-male a cappella group, has emerged as a phenomenon with a massive fan base, numerous nationwide TV appearances and proven success with CD releases. SNC’s “The New Old Fashioned Tour” comes to Miami on the heels of the release of their new album The New Old Fashioned (available October 2015), their fifth album release through Atlantic Records. The album features an eclectic array of songs that explore multiple influential musical eras highlighted by signature and singularly unique medleys.

Brian is the unique comedian whose material is relatable to generations of fans and revered by fellow comedians including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Patton Oswalt and David Letterman. In 2014, Brian made a scene-stealing cameo in Chris Rock’s film, Top Five, and he was seen in Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. But it is stand-up comedy that is Brian’s focus –visiting close to 100 cities each year and selling out some of the most beautiful venues on the continent.

Like a wayward Santa for the Christmas obsessed, legendary filmmaker and raconteur John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) rides into town on his sleigh full of smut spreading yuletide cheer with his critically acclaimed one-man show. Putting the X in Xmas, Waters’ rapid-fire monologue explores and explodes traditional archetypes as he shares his compulsive desire to give and receive perverted gifts, a religious fanaticism for Santa Claus, and an unhealthy love of true crime holiday horror stories.

Derived from some of the most famous movie scores ever – Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Lion King, Frozen and more – the musical program explores many of Walt Disney’s stories and characters through memorable melodies. The show is a full concert experience, featuring four Broadway vocalists who present the show in a scripted narrative.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of his breakthrough album Live at Stubb’s, Matisyahu takes a new look at the music that catapulted him into the industry with Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey. Matisyahu and his band will present an evening of stripped-back arrangements highlighting the music that launched his career, through the evolution of Live at Stubb’s to his most recent release, Akeda.

The Tenors – the Canadian multi-platinum, JUNO Award-winning vocal group with almost 1 million albums sold – released their fourth studio album Under One Sky on Decca/Universal Music Classics on June 2. The quartet, with multiple No. 1 Billboard Classical Crossover albums under its belt, “have talent to burn” and “killer singing voices” raves The Toronto Star, and “pitch perfect harmonies” says Examiner.com.
