Historia del país
Brasil, la mayor economía de América Latina, tiene una rica historia llena de misterio, que se remonta a más de 10.000 años, cuando los primeros nativos americanos optaron por 
establecerse en sus orillas cálidas. A mediados del siglo 16, el Papa ayudó a negociar el Tratado de Tordesillas, dividiendo América del Sur entre Portugal y España, en un intento de evitar la guerra por la tierra del Nuevo Mundo: terreno ubicado al este del meridiano de Tordesillas pertenecería a la portugués, terreno ubicado al oeste de la misma al español. Los portugueses penetraron mucho más allá de lo estipulado por el tratado y terminó ocupando casi la mitad del continente de América del Sur. El portugués es el idioma oficial en Brasil, que tiene alrededor de la mitad de la población de América del Sur.
Ciudades Principales
Las ciudades principales, por lo menos para el turismo son Rio de Janeiro y Sao Paolo. Rio es el centro del carnaval, y es súper famoso por sus playas fantásticas, la vida relajada y los trajes de baños pequeños de sus habitantes. Sao Paolo es una de las ciudades más grandes del mundo. Cuentan con una escena gay muy popular.
Pan de Azucar- Pan de Azúcar es un pico que puede ser visto de todo Río. Se eleva a casi 1.300 pies sobre la ciudad y ofrece excelentes vistas de la ciudad y si vas al atardecer, las puestas de sol son fenomenales. Para llegar a la montaña, tomarás los teleféricos. Ellos salen en una base regular y te llevan a ver este gran hito. Un viaje a Río no está completo sin una caminata hasta Pan de Azúcar ya que las vistas desde la cima son realmente impresionantes.
Festival del Orgullo gay en Sao Paolo– La mayoría de los viajeros gay visitan Sao Paulo por primera vez para asistir al legendario Desfile del orgullo gay internacional. Este festival está más
allá de cualquier cosa que pudo haber visto en ningún otro lugar en el mundo. Cada mes de junio más de 1,5 millones de gays, lesbianas y transexuales descienden en Sao Paulo para celebrar lo que ha convertido en el mayor festival del orgullo gay en todo el mundo – haciendo eventos similares en Nueva York y San Francisco parecer como un crucero en el parque.
Floripa- Ciudad Gay desconocido
Florianópolis, Brasil es el secreto mejor guardado de América del Sur. Es aquí donde los gays 
que viven en Brasil o Argentina van en sus vacaciones – la cual tiene sentido, porque esta ciudad, que es medio-continental y-media isla, es exactamente a medio camino entre Buenos Aires y Río de Janeiro. Y, es un paraíso tropical donde los precios aún no se han inflado por una oleada de turistas del primer mundo. Si quieres ver lo gay que es realmente América del Sur y buscas las experiencias de la gente del lugar, Florianópolis es donde quieres ir a pasarlo bien- puede ser el viaje más caliente que nunca tomas.

History
Brazil, Latin America´s largest economy, has a rich history steeped in mystery, dating back more than 10,000 years when the first Native Americans chose to settle on its warm shores. By
the middle of the 16th century, the Pope helped negotiate the Treaty of Tordesillas, dividing South America between Portugal and Spain, in an attempt to prevent war over the land of the New World: as a result, all land located east of the Tordesillas meridian would belong to Portugal, and land located to the west would belong to the Spanish. The Portuguese penetrated well beyond what was stipulated by the treaty and ended up occupying about half of the South America continent which is why, in this day and age, nearly half of the population of South America shares their language and culture.
Well Known destinations
The principal cities, at least from the standpoint of tourism are Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo. Rio well known for Carnaval, Copacabana Beach, and for its inhabitants tiny swim suits. Sao Paolo is one of the biggest cities in the world. They both feature established and bustling gay scenes.
Sugarloaf Mountain
Sugarloaf Mountain is a peak that can be spotted from all around Rio. It rises almost 1300 feet over the city and offers great views of the city and if you go up at dusk, the sunsets are phenomenal. In order to get to the mountain, you will take the cable cars. They depart on a regular basis and take you up to see this great landmark. A trip to Rio is not complete without a trek up Sugarloaf as the views from the top really are breathtaking. We suggest that you get up 
there around 4:30 PM as you will get great light, be able to see the marvelous sunsets and you will be able to take some incredible photos.
Gay Pride in Sao Paolo
Most gay travelers who know Sao Paulo visit for the first time because of the legendary International Gay Pride Parade. This festival is beyond anything you may have seen anywhere else in the world. Every June more than 1.5 million gay, lesbian and transgender travelers descend on Sao Paulo to hold what has become the largest Gay Pride Festival anywhere in the world – making similar events in New York and San Francisco seem like a cruise in the park!
Floripa- Undiscovered Gay Mecca
Florianopolis, Brazil is the best kept secret of South America. This is where gays who live in Brazil or Argentina go on their vacations – which makes sense, because this city, which is half-mainland and half-island, is exactly halfway between Buenos Aires and Rio. And, it’s a tropical paradise where the prices have yet to be inflated by a rush of First World tourists. If you want to see what gay South America is really like and experience the locals, then Florianopolis is where you want to go to get your gay on – it may be the hottest trip you ever take.
