A week ago Monday, The Alibi finished their 18th anniversary celebration with their annual Employee Turnabout. As always, the employees went all out and it was a lot of fun.  On Tuesday, Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay Lesbian Chamber of Commerce GFLGLCC held their monthly Mixer at Beauty & the Feast at the Atlantic Hotel. Lip Sync Spectacular was the American Airlines Wings Foundation annual benefit that took place at Hunters on Wednesday. The hostess was Vinna Rouge and Eric Culsta and featured AA employees in drag.  On Thursday, the Broward Equality Florida Fall Council Mixer took place at a private residence. Also, on Thursday, GLBX Gay Lesbian Business Exchange held a special Jazz in the Hall Mixer and Expo at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. The event featured many member vendors as well as yummy food from Ruth Chris, Beauty and The Feast, Casa D’Angelo and many more.  On Saturday, the Manor Complex presented, Ru Paul Drag Race and American Idol superstar Adore Delano who packed the club and put on a fantastic show…this “Gurl” can SING! On Sunday, Scandals presented the annual Leather Masked Ball Leather Auction that once again featured sexy men in leather attire and raised much needed funds for this important organization.

The GFLGLCC (Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) in association with Cruise Planners presents their quarterly luncheon takes place from 11:30am to 1:30pm WHSF-3038_Thursdayat the Pelican Grand Beach Resort (2000 N Ocean Blvd). Wilton Manors Business Association Lunch takes place from 11:30 am to 1pm at Quality Diner (1417 NE 26th St. Wilton Manor) they invite everyone to come join them for an informal networking lunch. Open menu, attendees will be responsible for own lunch.

WHSF-3038_Thursday3Village Pub presents their monthly Caliente with Jose Vega starts at 9:45pm and features some of the best in Latin entertainment. This month joining Jose will be Antonio Edwards, CA Lopez and Nikki Adams.

Compass Entourage presents the 3rd annual White Party at Penny’s at the Duke, which is a World AIDS day fundraiser with a 50/50 raffle, drag performances, DJ Q spinning, Hors WHSF-3038_FridayD’oeuvres from 8-9pm and no cover.

The New Girl Friend opens today at: Bill Cosford Cinema, O Cinema Miami Shores, Classic Gateway Theatre, Cinema Paradiso-Hollywood, Silverspot Coconut Creek, Regal Shadowood, Movies of Delray, and Movies of Lake Worth. In acclaimed writer-director Francois Ozon’s provocative new film, Claire (rising French star Anais Demoustier) discovers a secret about the husband of her late best friend, Laura. Following Laura’s death, Claire reaches out to comfort bereaved David (Romain Duris), only to discover his secret: he enjoys dressing as a woman. With dashes of George Cukor and Douglas Sirk, Ozon elevates his exploration of femininity to a new level.

Twist presents the one and only DJ Deanne hitting it hard tonight in the main room!

The South Florida Mustangs presents a showcase Square Dancing Event at Scandals Saloon from 7-9pm.

 

Saturday, September 26

WHSF-3038_SaturdayRumors presents “The Hair Of The Dog Fundraiser – Back To School” pet costume contest from 4 to 7 pm. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded to the best dressed pet in “back to school attire” (nerds, class clown, prom queen, etc.). In addition to raffles and great prizes there will be a silent auction. All proceeds to benefit Pet Project for Pets.

The Ramrod presents DJ Herbie James from 10pm to 3am.

Julains 4th Annual Reverse Quinceanera takes place from 6-10pm at the Armory (400 SW 24th St), followed by a dance party until 1 am starring DJ Robbie WHSF-3038_Saturday2Leslie.

The Manor Saturdays presents “Paradise” a theme party in the ballroom starring special guest from Brazil, DJ Rodolfo Bravat. In the Ivy Lounge and Patio, Noche Latina Saturdays pays tribute to singer Yuri, starring Miss Noche Latina 2014 and 15, Taina Norell and Kalah Mendoza along with DJ Nena on the turntables spinning some of the hottest Latin tunes. The Manor Saturdays features choreographed productions, novelty acts, and beautiful dancers. Doors open at 11 pm and there is NO COVER before midnight and only $5 after midnight for member and $7 for non-members.

Scandals Saloon presents their monthly Anastasia’s Gospel Revival, which is a joyful celebration of Southern Gospel Music starting at 6pm.
