I'd like to start off this week by congratulating Miss Alis Summers and Miss Jocelyn Summers. Alisa recently placed in the top 12 of the Miss Gay USofA newcomer Pageant. This was her very first national pageant and we couldn't be more proud of her. Jocely recently wont the Miss Gay Florida USofA at Large Pageant and she will go on to compete at the national level right here in GaYBOR at The Honey Pot in October. Both of you kept the crowns here in Tampa and if this is any sign of what's to come, watch out world because Tampa is back on the map for pageants! This is just another great example of a community that comes together as one and I for one am very proud to be a part of this community and I know you are, too! VIVA LA GAYBOR! Until next week "my un-conventional conventionists" (anyone who can tell me,

What a week I had, let me tell you! I went to Dinner and a Movie at Flamingo on Monday, G Bar on Tuesday, Hamburger Mary's Tampa for some Drag Queen Bingo on Wednesday, JJ's Cafe and Bar GaYBOR Talent Search on Thursday and then Angel and Nina dragged me over to The Social (like they had to drag me real far). Friday night was spent at Steam/The Honey Pot and that was followed by The NYC Glow Party at G Bar on Saturday. As if that wasn't enough, Sunday was spent at Gaspar’s Grotto enjoying their amazing brunch with Moss, Billy, Richy, Snooks, our own cover model Derek and a good looking friend of Billy's. The rest of Sunday was spent out by the pool with some friends and then off I went again - you guessed it - had to round off my Sunday with a stop into AJA for the Red Carpet T Dance, where Miss Melanie Minyon was doing her thing, then it was over ...

So, did you miss seeing me around town this past weekend? Well, I missed all of you, too, but not enough to miss out on a trip down to South Beach and Fort Lauderdale! Just kidding, I really do miss all of you when I’m not out and about in GaYBOR! I had a chance to attend the 12 year anniversary of Score with their 12 Years on the Road Party and, trust me, it was a party. From there I went up to spend a few days in Lauderdale and attended the bartender’s charity underwear auction - it was a sight to be seen. Thousands of dollars were raised and donated and fun was had by all, including me, of course! It’s always nice to vacation but it’s so much nicer to come back home…I missed all you bitches, damnit! As always, much love to all of you! Peace out, Scott. Oh, one more thing - anyone out there have purple toenails?

Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day! Yes everyone, summer time is here and with that comes the heat, the humidity and the rain...but hey, all the more reason for you to grab your umbrella (we do not want to get our hair wet now, do we?), get out of the house and go to some of the hot spots I have listed here in my column. I had a chance to talk to a few people while I was out at Hamburger Mary's Tampa Tampa this past week and they made mention that they really liked reading my column - that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. If you want to see or want me to mention anything in my column, just ask, for goodness sake! Email me at

and I’ll try my best to add it. By the way, can we say Andy Bell from Erasure at Honey Pot? I was screaming like a little girl (imagine that). Until next week, much love to all of you! Peace out, Scott.

Welcome to GaYBOR Days!
This is going to be one fun-filled week right here in our own home town of Tampa in the GaYBOR District. How about our own Cory on the cover this week? Come out, say hi to Mark and Carrie over at MC Film and while you’re there be sure to ask them for a GaYBOR Days brochure so you’ll be sure not to miss out on any of the events going on. Hotspots camera crews will be out and about shooting pictures for our magazine and website so don’t forget, when you least expect it...smile and say “Cheese!” you’ve been shot! Until next week, as always, much love to everyone! Peace out, Scott

Ok, so last week I showed some love…well, A LOT of love to Tampa and like I said, this week I brought the love to St. Petersburg. Monday night was spent at Flamingo for their Diva, Dining and a Movie night…I gotta say, the food was yumsters! Thursday night I hauled my crew over to Georgie’s for their oh so famous Thursday L.I.T party and oh boy, what a party it was! Friday night we did some bar hoping and visited The Oar House, Pepperz, Partners, The Flamingo and Georgie’s…met some cute boys and had tons of fun! I have to say, the boys and girls of ...

I know that at times I have some really crazy or goofy things to write about but for this issue I’d really just like to say thank you. Thank you to all of you who read my column and actually come up to me to tell me how much you like it. Thank you to those who have always been by my side to keep me motivated when my own motivation just wasn’t there. Thank you to every one of you who picks up Hotspots to read our amazing publication and to each and every one of my advertisers, you’re the best! Thank you to my Hotspots family..all of you, I know I drive Scott Holland crazy but he’s always there for me as is Peter Clark whom I love from the bottom of my heart. Last but not least, Stephen..you’ve been there for me unconditionally and for that there are no words to thank you enough. Hotspots Magazine is a family and for all of you who read this, I consider you part of our family as well. Thank you for just being you! As always, very very much love to you all! Peace out, Scott.

Unity in our community, those are great words to open with. The recent confusion with the what was to be Club Infusion and its failure to open really did show how unified our community is. We rallied together to be sure that those who were hurt in one way or another by this were well taken care of. Hamburger Mary’s Tampa and The Honey Pot/G.Bar along with the GaYBOR District Coalition picked up the pieces that were left by the crumbled Infusion and made sure to give Shannell and her crew a place to showcase her talents as she was promised. I want to commend not only the above mentioned establishments but you, yes you, our readers. Without you, there would be no community and without our community and its support we are nothing. Remember, there is strength in numbers and you are a part of those numbers! Until next week, much love to you all. Peace out, Scott.

HAPPY PRIDE! That’s right, it’s Pride time here in Central Florida and everything around us is full of rainbows. Seriously though, this is the time of year for us all to be proud of who we are and what others in the past have had to go through to get us to be able to have a pride celebration today.
