 On April 1st directly behind the GaYBOR T-Dance @ Barbarella is the 15th Annual Festa Italiana Tampa Days (Festaitalianatampa.com). This is the largest collection of Italian food fares and events in Florida. Live entertainment, drinks and yes, all that awesome cooked food! Over 60 Italian restaurants particpate. Hours are 11 am 'til 5pm. in Centennial Park in Ybor City. Come early to eat a lot of Italian then stroll over to hear Jason Dutty, star of "Sordid Lives" Performs @ Barbarella's! There have been many conventions, cruise ships, parties, pageants, tournaments, special events and meetings held because of GaYBOR! These events and planners have worked together with GaYBOR District and drew 10s of 1,000s of national travellers, international visitors, state tourists along with locals to GaYBOR/Ybor City, creating a huge economical impact on not only GaYBOR/Ybor City but the West Coast of Florida.  News of the new Tampa Domestic Partner Registry hearing coming up in front of Tampa City Council including comments made by Tampa City Councilman Harry Cohen. In regards to the agenda item, he said, "It is all about equality. In our city and throughout our community." He continued, "Come out to any council meetings to voice your opinions!" Other points he wanted GaYBOR members to be informed of were about the 11 parking garages that the city owns and the upcoming National GOP Convention.

 The 9th Annual Flan Festival has given bragging rights to 3 competitive entries in the competitions, "2012 Best Flan in Tampa Bay." With over 30 varieties of prepared flan on the judge's plates, it truly was a culinary dessert challenge. The weather was a perfect beautiful spring Ybor City day for this one-of-a-kind annual festival. With judges including New York Food columnist, Taste of Tampa promotions owners, USAmeribank President, last year's winning flan chef champs, Spanish newspaper and radio personalities, along with myself, had the great job of choosing this year's winners in traditional and non-traditional tasty flans. There were many handed down recipes. It definitely was a fight to the finish. Flan promoter and Ybor Saturday Market manager Lynn Schultz gave us the basic rules and then went to the eye to eye contestant and flan sampling areas. There were 30 samplings in 2 categories.

 On a picture perfect day the 2012 Gasparilla Invasion went off without any problems. GaYBOR District was packed with all kinds of party animals, like weekend Pirates, a fun filled circus, Naughty Butt Pirates, Circuit bozs, great entertainment all over and the women of the Olivia Cruise made the weekend special. GaYBOR was truly a melting pot of diversity!

 Things are not heating up, but boiling over and turning into a circus with excitement for The Gasparilla Invasion from January 27 -29. This is the Second Annual GANCHO Tampa Circuit Party weekend. DJ Abel, DJ Ralphi Rosario, and DJ Power Infiniti are just some of the DJs in town this weekend. All of GaYBOR/Ybor City will be adding to the festivities. There will be special Drag Shows and DJs at Hamburger Mary's, Bradley's on 7th, Steam Fridays and G.Bar. There are the HOTTEST dancers and porn stars flying in from across America and Europe to perform and party in all the clubs. At Steam Fridays, there will be a "one of a kind circus performance." G.Bar will host DJ/Producer Joe Gauthreaux! (See details below).
