We just love the 10:30 p.m. drag show at Hamburger Mary's Tampa! When the crazy 7-foot tall blonde Daphne Ferraro is the hostess, you know it's going to be over-the-top! At one point in her show, Daphne calls guests up on stage to tease them and to do a friendly shot.In a recent show, she pointed to a muscle man and pulled him on stage. He was a really great sport. You can just imagine the surprise after the show when she learned who he was -- Chris Hovan,

On Wednesday, Sept. 7th, Thx Mgmt proudly presents GLBT Bands: Hunx & His Punx, The Coathangers, Hungry Gayze and Michael Christmas all at the Crowbar. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Remember we don't repeat gossip, so listen closely! It was a week of birthday – Kurt King, co-owner of Hamburger Mary's and Bradley Nelson, owner of Bradley's on 7th both on the same day! There was a huge party thrown by friends for Bradley. The food was catered by New York, New York Pizza. We understand that Mamma even got a couple good birthday spankings in. By the end of the night guests had lost count of the Ybor drink Mini Guineas. . .

The Half Way to Gasparilla Bar Crawl started at The Honey Pot with over 1,100 partying pirates! This years benefit went to 'Meals on Wheels' Hillsborough'. Over at the Castle was Fetish Con. I have always said, "straight people are the kinkiest" and I wasn't disappointed! There were multiple drag shows at Hamburger Mary's, Bradley's and Tease and dancing men at Liquid Lounge, Bradley's and G.Bar. There was also a Frank Sinatra Party at The Ritz Ybor. So as we were walking over to G.Bar for the Stripper vs Aliens Invasion Party, suddenly we heard our names called out from the parking lot. It was none other than former Tampa...

Could it be that an important part of Ybor history is peaking out of the ground at us? The tunnels of Ybor are a big part of the past. It is said to have been build with a curved arch brick roof and was complete with electricity and a rail system. These tunnels were used during prohibition to transport liquor and other things. One of these tunnels ran from the Blue Ribbon Store to Las Novedades which later became El Goya, then Tracks, then Pleasure Dome and now is Czar. In the 1970s, El Goya caught on fire and the tunnel entrance was blocked. In 2000, the Blue Ribbon burned to the ground and the space is now a parking lot. After the recent heavy rains, a space about four feet wide, with bricks stacked on bricks and runs under the sidewalk, has opened. Is this a tunnel of Ybor City?!

New York's tourism industry is cheering the state's newly approved same-sex marriage legislation, with supporters predicting that thousands of gay couples will bring their wedding parties — and dollars — to New York once the law goes into effect July 24. Mayor Michael Bloomberg will launch "NYC I Do," a campaign to build on the law's passage by selling the city as a gay-wedding destination, a spokeswoman for the city's marketing office told Bloomberg News. The city's tourism website already includes a Q&A about the new law and highlights hotels advertising gay wedding specials. Among them: Le Parker Meridien, which offers a "Love Has No Boundaries/Born This Way" wedding package, with a ceremony and reception for 100 people for $25,000. www.biggaynews.com
