Chelsea Nightclub We want to give a huge thank you to Chelsea Nightclub and co-hosts. Carrie was greeted at an event by a large crowd with many friends and new faces there. It was also club owner, Nikki's Birthday Celebration! Nikki's sister was here from Iowa with her husband. She presented Nikki with a very special teddy bear. Get ready to say "wow" and "aw" - the teddy was made from the mink coat of Nikki's sister's grandmother. That is so cool! The Don Vicente Inn On yet another very cold night, an impressive group attended Carrie's Meet & Greet at the Don Vicente. Paul Thomas was on piano to delight the group. Ashley performed several songs while being treated to the Don Vicente famous sangria and finger foods. Carrie delivered an impressive speech on the future of Tampa and his ideas to get us all there. We would like to thank the Shivers and co-hosts. New Club Only in GaYBOR can a new club that doesn't even have a name be packed every week. All we know is it's packed with fun! RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 has GaYBOR in quite the stir! Our very own diva, Alexis Mateo, is in the contest this year! Chelsea Nightclub is the Tampa headquarters for this year's season. Over at Hamburger Mary's the Judy B. Goode Show was bumped to Thursdays because of RuPaul's Drag Race 3. The pirates are coming! The Pirates are coming! Gasparilla weekend kick off is going to be incredible this year; starting on Friday, January 28, with the invasion on Saturday. The very first time all six Tampa Mayor candidates came together was at The GaYBOR District Coalition monthly meeting on Friday, Jan. 14 at the New Metro Wellness & Community Center. This mayor forum featured the candidates, who spoke to a crowd of over 150 people. What a honor for GaYBOR! As one member said, "The next mayor of Tampa already will know about GaYBOR!" Good luck to all the candidates -Bob Buckhoen, Rose Ferlita, Dick Greco, Arthur Richardson, Thomas Scott and Ed Turanchik.
