Halloween GaYBOR Style

The Annual All Hallows Ball invites are out, and this year 6,000 potential crazy, over-the top revelers, in costumes, will be partying downtown then heading to GaYBOR/ Ybor City for the outrageous & newly changed Guavaween “Musical” event. Florida’s largest Private Gay Party “The All Hallows Ball” is at the Tampa Convention Center coinciding with the Annual Ybor “Gauava” Halloween Night Fest October 27th. This year there isn’t a gate cover charge nor will there be a fenced in area or the traditional Mama Guava Parade! There will be clubs with a multiple wristband entry for $30.00.

The GaYBOR clubs, restaurants and bars will all be having great “Guava” events. Costume contests, bands, special VJ/DJ’s playing in clubs, and the Ybor streets will be totally bizarre. Definitely a great time to party in GaYBOR/ Ybor City!

We noticed an ad sent to us about a change with a hotel chain in New Port Richey. It was changing to becoming a new destination “gay resort.”

Strategists, economists, political thinkers and researchers are still putting figures together in regards to the RNC economic impact for Tampa Bay last month. It looks like we had very high accolades in friendliness and in hotel stays for August, which is usually dismal! But where did they eat?

Speaking of great places to eat, the Laughing Cat Restaurant has started its fall buffet. More variety of fish dishes, salads and other new menu items for the weekday spread. Open 11-2 PM Monday – Friday.

You Can Not make This Stuff Up!!

This week, two Laughing Cat Restaurants managers came into MC Film and said they were going to the Elton John Concert. They were excited to see the flashy sparkling glasses in the store and both purchased a pair for that night’s concert. Just after midnight the pair were back at MC Film with an over the top story.

While walking into the newly remodeled million dollar USF Sun Dome, they were approached by Elton John’s promoter (Not knowing it).The guy said he liked their glasses and asked if they would like upgraded tickets. To their surprise they were upgraded to front row seats! After one song Elton pointed at the guy’s glasses & gave them a thumbs up. One of the guys took his glasses off and gave them to Elton John. Then, to everybody’s surprise, Elton pulled out a marker and signed the glasses, then returned them! They were congratulated and envied about their luck all night!
