 Well, last week here in Tampa was nothing less than amazing. Between Manny Lehman spinning at G. Bar's pre-Halloween event to the RISE one year anniversary, let's just say my weekend was anything but boring. It was great to see so many familiar faces out and about have a great time!  Hi everyone! Last week, Hotspots attended Orlando Pride and unfortunately, it got rained out and cancelled. We still had a great time attending all of the various nightclub events! Not to worry my faithful readers, there has been a new date set for Orlando Pride and it's November 13th, 2011! HAPPY ORLANDO PRIDE EVERYONE! Yes, it's Pride week in Orlando and my column is dedicated to all of the events going on in Orlando celebrating Pride week. There are so very many events going on that I couldn't possibly list all of them so be sure to flip through the Central Florida section of the very same Hotspots you are reading right now for more detailed information. While enjoying your weekend here in Orlando, be sure to remember what PRIDE is all about and what sacrifices our brothers and sisters before us had to make so that we could openly and proudly walk around and celebrate the fact that we are parents, professionals and every day citizens and we are PROUD of it! I just wanted to take a few minutes and thank all of you for not only reading and supporting the antics in my column every week for nearly the past 2 years, but for supporting Hotspots Magazine as a whole. Wow, now that Labor Day is over I can finally relax. With everything that was going on, including the presence of good ol' Hurricane Irene, my life felt like one big party of a whirlwind, lol. . .but hey, I'm a party boy... I was like, bring it on! Now with this week upon us, there is a lot to do including the AIDS walk in Saint Pete, something that you all should be participating in, so get on those boots, boys and girls, because you know they were "made for walking!"  HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! This is the Mardi Gras week for the gays and boy, does it show. The manliest of men adorn their Dolce evening gowns as they prance around the clubs and parties in their favorite pair of Christian Louboutin's (I KNOW I WILL BE, THAT'S FOR SURE… LOL) and because it's Halloween, it's all okay. So for this one sacred day of days in the gay world, break out of your shell and do something that no one would ever expect you to do… just because you can! I've listed a ton of costume contests below, so good luck to everyone who's entering… who knows, you might get your rent paid for! Be safe and have fun everyone! Hey everyone, long time no see. . .just kidding, lol. So, this past week I spent some time down in Lauderdale with my Hotspots family doing all sorts of planning for upcoming Central Florida events. My friend Poly came along with me and let me tell you, when "she" is around, you know some crazy days they are going to be. I mean, as we arrived in Lauderdale some random robust man wearing a tight shirt and a TIGHT MINI SKIRT (Yes, a mini skirt!) came up to us to say hello. . .ok, need I say more! Details to come! While having dinner at Hamburger Mary's in Tampa, I had someone approach me and asked if I was the same guy who wrote the column in Hotspots. I replied that yes, I was, and he thanked me. I asked him why he was thanking me and his reply was, for giving him something to look forward to reading every week. Hearing things like that make me so grateful to be a part of a family, such as Hotspots, who really does care and give back to the community each and every day! It's back to school time here in Tampa Bay and I'd like to welcome back all of the students that have been away for the summer and those who are making Tampa their home for the very first time as they all start a new year of school. Tampa is a great place to live and play as you will soon find out. My column is a great place to start as it will tell you some of the goings on within the gay community in both Tampa and Orlando.
