So, did you miss seeing me around town this past weekend? Well, I missed all of you, too, but not enough to miss out on a trip down to South Beach and Fort Lauderdale! Just kidding, I really do miss all of you when I’m not out and about in GaYBOR! I had a chance to attend the 12 year anniversary of Score with their 12 Years on the Road Party and, trust me, it was a party. From there I went up to spend a few days in Lauderdale and attended the bartender’s charity underwear auction - it was a sight to be seen. Thousands of dollars were raised and donated and fun was had by all, including me, of course! It’s always nice to vacation but it’s so much nicer to come back home…I missed all you bitches, damnit! As always, much love to all of you! Peace out, Scott. Oh, one more thing - anyone out there have purple toenails?

There’s a change coming over at JJ’s that I’m sure you’re going to love! Starting tonight it’s GaYBOR’s Talent Search! Here’s a chance to show Tampa what you’ve got and, if you’ve got what it takes, you’ll take home $50 in cash! If its drag, dance, singing or stilt walking bring it over to JJ’s tonight and who knows, you just might take home the money. This is a 10 week contest with a grand prize to be won at the end of the contest. The winners are chosen by audience applause, so bring out all of your friends and win some money tonight!

The evolution in music continues tonight at Georgie’s Alibi. Tonight and tomorrow night DJ Bill Hallquist will be spinning live. If you’re familiar with Bill’s remixes then you’ll know what kind of night this is going to be; if you’re not, trust me, you’ll love it. There’s never a cover at Georgie’s and they’re open until 3 am 7 days a week.

whatshotCFL2For those of you who are seeking some culture this weekend, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is being performed by the Patel Conservatory in Ferguson Hall at The Straz Center. This timeless enchantment of a magical fairytale was originally presented in 1957 starring Julie Andrews and was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium and tonight is your chance to re-live that. Showtime is 7:30 pm. For more information, StrazCenter.org

Paul Anderson presents Feel It Fridays at Lyrica in Downtown Orlando. DJ Aimee brings you the dance music you’ll want to hear while the sights and sounds of this 3 story with a rooftop nightclub comes to life. If you’re looking for the place to see and be seen, then this is right where you’ll want to be. Feel It Fridays… enough said!

Inflatable 27 foot high water slide? Velcro wall? Bungee run? Want to see your favorite manager, bartender or diva dunked in the dunk tank? If that’s the case, head on over to The Flamingo for their Wet and Wild party! There will be twists and turns and all kinds of surprises around every corner so if it’s fun in the sun you’re looking for (and a few hot bodies along the way) then The Flamingo is where you’ll want to be today.

Sunday, August 1st

If it’s a Sunday T-Dance you’re looking for, then head over to the Parliament House Resort. There’s not much description needed for this legendary event that takes place each and every Sunday at Parliament House Resort. Start out by the pool and end up in the disco, just plan on being there for a while… I promise you won’t regret it!whatshotCFL5

Tuesday, August 3rd

Feeling lucky? If you haven’t been to Rain Nightclub in Orlando for Lucky Tuesdays then you’re really missing out. I’m not talking about the hot boys, or the hot dancers or the great guy who promotes this night…no, not at all! I’m talking about the nightclub itself - it’s amazing. Their mantra is “Come happy, leave lucky!” I have to agree! 18 and up are welcome with no cover for those 21 and up before 11. For more information go to PaulAndersonPresents.com. Be sure to look for the Hotspots photographer to get your picture in our magazine.
