Last Week in Review
This past week was just amazing here in the Bay area! I had a chance to go and see the Evolution of Drag at The Honey Pot. I met my sisters Mark and Carrie along with my friends Mama, Rich and the infamous Sharon Rose for what would be one hell of a funny night! Later that night I went over to Hamburger Mary's to help celebrate Mike Higgins's birthday along with DJ Power Infinity, McCavity and Shannell from "RuPaul's Drag Race." So, Shannell herself is presenting the birthday cake to Mike, I'm standing right in front of them taking a picture and SLAM, the damn cake slides off the platter and right onto the floor at my feet! Thursday, September 2nd Well, it's week number 6 of GaYBOR's Talent Search at JJ's Cafe and Bar. Damn, there's some fierce talent in this town! If you've got the talent it takes to win you'll take home $50 in cash! If it's drag, dance, singing or stilt walking...bring it over to JJ's Cafe and Bar tonight and who knows? You just might take home the money. This is a 10 week contest with a grand prize to be won at the end of the contest. The winners are chosen by audience applause, so bring out all of your friends and win some money tonight!
Does your milkshake bring all the boys to the yard? How about you bring yourself to the Parliament House Resort tonight to see Kelis live in concert! She'll be there performing her chart topping hits including "Milkshake," "4th Of July" and "Acapella." Admission is only $10 before 11 pm and $15 after. For $25 you'll get a private, up front section with a private bar and a VIP only meet and greet. Make mine a vanilla, please.
The long anticipated wait for the opening of Dive Bar & Grill is here! Come and see what all the talk was about. You can enter the Hottest Body in the Bay Contest or the sand castle competition. There will be a steel drum band playing along with DJ Greg Anderson playing on the full outdoor tropical dance floor. There will be lots of giveaways and fun to be had by all. While you're there, be sure to visit MC Film's 2nd location right next door to Dive...Hi, sisters!
Starting tonight and every Sunday it's Noche Latina at Georgie's Alibi. DJ Lui Lou will be spinning the best in Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and Reggaeton. There will be a special live performance by Jade from "RuPaul's Drag Race" at 12:30 am. As always, there is never a cover at Georgie's and they will have half price specials on food, too! Georgie's is open until 3 am 7 days a week. Nos vemos en la pista de baile!
In Orlando, or want to be there? Feel like winning some ca$h tonight? Then you need to be at Pulse Nightclub for Mix It Up Monday hosted by Kai'ja Adonis, Axel Andrews and Naomi Sommers. DJ Scott Roberts is spinning a mix up of top 40's and Bobby Mills is behind the bar. There's a talent show that starts at 12 am where you can win that cash prize I mentioned. 18 and up is welcome – 21 and up no cover before 11 pm.
