Everyone always asks me how I manage to have the energy to go to so many events. The rumors are NOT TRUE as I just confirmed that Island City Health and Fitness is not moving and staying in its original location with some major improvements happening in the near future. According to owner Reece Darham "It's time to freshen things up at ICHF, keeping up with the national chains and to deliver the best product to our deserving members! As such, we are completely renovating the men's bathroom, giving the women's chaning room a major overhaul, resurfacing the aerobic studio floor, new air conditioning in the aerobic studio, purchasing new cardio equipment, and a few other nice surprises...I can't give it all away! We anticipate doing the interior renovations around September, our slowest month. Also, the owners of the building are doing a complete renovation of the exterior of the building, as well as converting the empty interior spaces of the old Poverello and Social Security locations into eight smaller retail spaces. This side of the Shoppes will no longer be the ugly empty side; we're going to be the hip, happening, and healthy Shoppes! Oh, and we are finally getting a brand new roof! No more leaks! I could not be happier with all the renovations."
RuPaul Andre Charles is better known when he dresses in drag and entertains millions everyday as his over-the-top and fabulous alter ego RuPaul. Now the world's most famous drag queen and reality show host will be featured in the latest issue of Bluewater Productions' Female Force biography comic series. Female Force: RuPaul, in stores in July, follows the self-described "Supermodel of the World" from his time as a time as a struggling musician and dancer through his first big break as a gender-bending drag queen in the B52s "Love Shack" music video. The issue will also cover his journey to fame as well as the outreach he does. "RuPaul is bigger-than-life and can hardly be contained in the pages of a traditional comic," said Bluewater president Darren G. Davis, The issue, written by Michael Troy and penciled Nathan Girten also delves into RuPaul's personal life as an openly gay performer and his many public trials and tribulations including the 1993 furor in upstaging and insulting legendary comic Milton Berle on live TV and his cult-like following for his reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race." If you're one of the 40 million iPad owners in the world, the chances are you carry it with you most of the time, whether at work, rest or play. The portable nature of an iPad makes it a desirable gadget to own, but means it may be susceptible to damage from dirt, water and harsh environments. For 2012, Lifedge has launched an innovative Waterproof iPad Case, designed to offer a stylish solution for the total protection of your iPad. Lifedge is a new brand launched by Scanstrut, an international market leader in the design and manufacturer of products to protect equipment used in demanding marine environments. With its strong marine heritage spanning over 25 years, Scanstrut has won numerous awards for its pioneering product range. The iPad Case is a waterproof and shockproof enclosure with an IP (Ingress Protection) rating of IP67 to keep water and dust at bay. Rigorous testing has shown that an iPad in a Lifedge case can be immersed in one metre of water for 30 minutes, or dropped onto a concrete floor from a height of one metre without being damaged. It also features an OptiGuard™ coating for exceptional screen clarity in sunlight, whilst ensuring the case is abrasion and chemical resistant to prevent damage from regular use and exposure to oils, sunscreen and household chemicals. The iPad Case has an ergonomically designed hand strap using a soft non-absorbent material, which holds firm across your hand for the perfect fit, and is suitable for both left and right handed users and allows the iPad to be used in portrait or landscape orientation. The iPad Case is available in blue, green, pink and grey and can be purchased from Lifedge.co.uk
