Today is the big day for Ken and Lloyd of Scandals as they open The Stable, a new bar at a familiar location – their former Scandals site! Manager, Gene Hamilton and the boys welcome you and invite you to “make this bar what you want it to be!” They promise a great, neighborly, friendly atmosphere and terrific prices all the time with Happy Hour prices every day ‘til 9 pm and all day on Sunday! Hold on to your butt cheeks, gentlemen, as Steel has some hot things going on this month! Friday, April 18th, is NA Fridays with D.J. Juan Carlos in the Main Room. Noche Latina presents the Grand Opening of Boylesque Latino Room with hot Latin strippers courtesy of Boardwalk! Saturday, April 19th, Flash Saturday will have D.J. Angelo Kortez spinning as the Gayety North puts the strip back in stripper! Don’t miss out on these hot nights.

Congratulations to Eric Lawrence of LeatherWerks, who was recently nominated for the “Pantheon of Leather Forebear Award.” Winners will be announced at the Pantheon of Leather Awards Show, which takes place July 18-20 in Chicago. Good luck, Eric, and congratulations from all of us!

The Birdcage restaurant at the Boardwalk will celebrate its big Grand Opening this weekend, Friday, the 18th and Saturday, the 19th. It should be a fun weekend, don’t miss it. And, don’t forget, Auntie Mame appears there live with her outrageous show every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so stop by and say hello to the old gal! Love ya, Mame!

Next Sunday, the 27th, Monkey Business presents “Employee Turnabout,” a fun night to help Sharde Ross on her quest to capture the title of Miss Gay U.S. of A. Classic! There’s a buffet at 5 pm with show time at 8:30. There will be raffles all night long and lots of special guests. This is one fun night you won’t want to miss!

Scandals features free dance lessons twice weekly, with Line Dancing on Monday and Tuesday at 7 pm and Two-Step and Shadow on Thursday at 7. Outlawz D.J./Instructor Roger is on hand both nights! I hear the place was jammin’ for Rodeo Weekend with huge and very enthusiastic crowds!

Torpedo goes Back 2 Basics with seven nights of classic after-hours parties. Thursdays, The D.L. is the place to be with D.J. TProMix. BEEF takes over on Fridays with D.J. Lee Majors spinning. Then it’s PUMP on Saturdays, with D.J. Just Oliver providing his signature beats. D.J. Jeffrey Jacobs heads the Sunday night extravaganza. On Tuesdays check out POP for all things pop culture has to offer, with Daisy D. who serving up pop anthems, as well as classic pop tunes.

Mona’s big Fishing Odyssey, which was postponed from the 12th to this Saturday, the 19th, because of Gay Pride, is set to sail at 6 pm aboard the Flamingo. By the time you read this all seats may be gone, so check with the bar for availability!

Tomorrow is the Wilton Manors Art Walk from 7-10pm. The gals and guys at Chic Optique invite you to enjoy the art, then step into their store for some wine and cheese!
