Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale is proud to announce the theme of the Stonewall Street Festival 2008:
Sizzling with Pride! A full week’s worth of events, parties, food and entertainment ... and the First Annual Night Parade! On Saturday June 21 start the celebration off at Rosie’s Bar & Grill with a special tea dance starting at 3pm. At 7pm, as twilight approaches, the sounds of DJ Joe Bermudez will envelope Wilton Drive from the VIP Rainbow Lounge on the main stage in front of the parade route, building the excitement and energy for Stonewall Street Festival’s first night parade at 8:00pm. After the parade ends at 9:30pm singing sensation Tammy Wright will perform her hit ‘Passion’ and premier her new single ‘Joleen’ by Dolly Parton. People will continue to dance in the street to DJ Joe Bermudez until the night’s festivities end at midnight. On Sunday over 28,000 people will come out to celebrate the diversity of South Florida in Wilton Manors on the famous Wilton Drive, from 16th Street to Five Points. Businesses and organizations will be represented on the Drive to meet with the community to expand both knowledge and relationships. Food, drink, and ample entertainment will be offered all day, with the spectacular climax of famed international recording artist Crystal Waters performing on the main stage at 2pm. This is a day of fun and friends that can’t be missed. The street fair starts at 10:00am and ends at 5:00pm.
April 20th marked the 20th Anniversary of AIDS Walk Miami and close to 3,500 participants descended on Miami Beach for the largest AIDS Walk in South Florida.
Care Resource wishes to thank everyone who participated and donated, from all the walkers to our incredible sponsors. Special thanks go out to our Grand Marshal Jane Lynch, our Emcee’s for the day, Fox News Anchor Craig Stevens and Mr. Miami Beach Michael Aller, and MTV for sponsoring the post-walk celebration. On May 1st Care Resource will present the 4th Annual Dining Out For Life fundraiser. This one-day international event benefits local HIV/AIDS charities in over 47 cities nationwide, with restaurants participating by donating a percentage of their day's receipts. South Florida restaurants who participate help to benefit Care Resource. For more information go to DiningOutForLifeSouthFlorida.org
Congrats go out to Vicky and Victor of the Birdcage for a great grand opening party last weekend. The food there for the event was fantastic and it was great to see all of the bar and business owners get together to kick off this great restaurant.
Congrats also go out to Ken and Lloyd who opened the new bar Stables (which is located at the old Scandals location on Oakland Park Blvd). The new shape of the bar allows patrons to move about and cruise more easily. Ken and Lloyd had a busy week after opening the new bar, including a farewell party for Dean and Lee (the hot singing group) who moved to North Carolina this week. Thank D and L for your community support.

•What local bartender has been given his final warning (for the 5th time)?
•What pill popping bar patron is offending friends big time?
•What local DJ is having more sex while spinning than while off duty?
