Let’s Get Sleazy!!!

Florida’s second best publication, The Rimmer, is presenting its 5th annual Sleazy Awards on Monday, March 10, at Bill’s, followed by a post party at the Boardwalk. The theme this year is “The Sleazy Prom: A Black Jock Affair.” Proceeds will be going to Shadowood II, a structured group home for homeless men and women who are living with HIV/AIDS and various life-threatening illnesses. Past events from The Rimmer have raised over $29,000 for local charities. Awards to be given out include: Sleaziest Bartender, Sleaziest Bar Manager, Sleaziest Sales Clerk, Best Top in Town, and 14 other categories. Winners will be chosen by paper ballots and online ballots on www.rimmermag.com. Paper ballots are provided at participating bars. The show will once again be hosted by the dynamic duo of Russell from Ramrod and Daisy Deadpetals with Electra providing the intermission entertainment. Other entertainers include D.J. Miik, Miranda, and a host of others. For more information, contact Guido at (954) 240-9054 or co-chair Kevin Wright at (954) 600-8575.

Tasty Tidbits

Ramrod’s Fetish Friday theme for tomorrow night, Friday, Feb. 22, is “Tops,” and Zak and Steve expect BOTH of them to be there, live and in person…<G>.

Gary Santis’ hot new Flash Saturdays at Steel keep getting bigger and better and this Saturday, the 23rd, they are introducing to the U. S., Europe’s newest deejay phenomenon, D.J. Micky Friedman. He’s as hot as his music; you won’t want to miss this show!

Next Wednesday, the 27th, Camden Las Olas is hosting a Wine Tasting Fundraiser for the ADAP Advocacy Association, a national HIV/AIDS organization.

It’s from 6 to 7:30 pm at Camden Las Olas, 501 SE 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale.

Tomorrow night, the 22nd, Miami-based D.J./Producer Maximus 3000 brings his progressive beats to Torpedo’s BEEF Fridays. Tuesday, the 26th, you are invited to the grand opening of The Pop Culture Lounge, which will showcase classic Pop Art as well as new and emerging talent. POP is the hottest night in Fort Lauderdale devoted to all things fashion, celebrity and art. Daisy D. gets you in the mood spinning the best pop music the city has to offer. Fashionistas, drag queens and all other creatures of the night converge to make one hell of a party.

Obituary

My personal sympathies to our former boss, Jason Bell, on the death of his youngest brother, Michael, on January 22nd.

I knew Michael well, he was a sweetheart and a gentleman and he will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to Jason, his parents and siblings from myself and all of us here at Hotspots.

Later, Rich
