Week of Feb 28th

Stables will be opening in April at the old Scandals location and I’m told that it’s going to be another great neighborhood bar and, knowing Ken and Lloyd, it will be successful. Stay tuned for updates on the reopening of two other bars.

Make sure you mark Monday, March 10th on your calendar for the fifth annual Sleazy Awards at Bill’s. This year’s show is being hosted by Daisy Deadpetals and Russell from Ramrod and will be a night of fun and surprises. This is the social event of the season so you better be there. Go to www.therimmer.com to cast your votes for the “Best Bar to Score At”, “Best Top in Town”, “Sleaziest Bar Owner” and more.

It’s time to start getting ready for our next major holiday when green is everyone’s favorite color. No, not Kermit the Frog Day (that’s in September), it’s St. Patrick’s Day when the parties never stop. You better start planning your wardrobe and make reservations now. Stay tuned for a listing of all of the upcoming events.

Congrats go out to Debra Hampton whose CD greeting card Release Party at Dude’s was a huge success last week. Debra has a new line of greeting cards available that comes with a CD so you can give that special person a great memory. 20% of all sales that night went to Tuesday’s Angels. Great job to every one involved.

This Saturday, March 1st is the Leather and Fetish Ball at Steel as part of the Winter Party Festival. “Deejay of the Year”. Randy Bettis will be spinning and porn star, Jake Deckard will be showing off his talents to all of the hot men there. Plan on being present for the party of the year.

Do you enjoy an old-fashioned hot dog for lunch? (Not that kind of wiener.) If you said yes, then stop by the hot dog cart located on Wilton Drive and 9th Avenue, Monday through Friday between 11:30 and 3 and enjoy a fresh, old-fashioned hot dog with all the trimmings.

I was in Monkey Business one afternoon and we were talking about how you can find almost anything on the Internet. One patron said that there was nothing out there about him on the web so we typed in his name on Google and he was shocked to find out what came up. So if you have some time to kill some day, sit down at the computer, go to www.google.com and type your name in. You will be amazed at what you find out about yourself.

Are you looking for love in all the wrong places? Want to find that true puppy love? Want something warm and cuddly to sleep with at night? If you said yes to any of these questions, stop by Tiny Treasures on “The Drive” and pick out the puppy of your choice. All the puppies are in cribs waiting for the right owner to take them home.

Do you like hot sweaty men? Are you one of those hot sweaty men? If you want to be, you should start working out at Main Street Gym where they have the state-of-the-art work-out equipment along with a friendly, knowledgeable staff to help you out. After a hard workout, you can stop by the spa next door for a rubdown.

Richard Cortez was chosen “Entertainer of the Year” in 2007 and the Ft. Lauderdale Eagle is proud to host his creative talents on Tuesday Nights at “Boys Night Out” between 8 pm and 2 am. Besides enjoying local talent on stage, check out the rest of this men’s club that offers a great environment to relax in. Stop by and say hello to Tom and the gang.

Rising Action Theatre presents the critically acclaimed off-Broadway, one-man play, “Confessions of a Mormon Boy” written and performed by Stephen Fales and directed by Tony Award-winning director, Jack Hofsiss. The play will run from February 28th through March 22, 2008 at the new Rising Action Theatre, 840 E. Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
