Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thanks to you all who helped make the 5th Annual Sleazy Awards this past Monday at Bill’s a huge success. There are so many people that helped make this show work out that there is not enough space in this column. However I would like to thank Peter here at Hotspots for allowing me to use my column to promote the Sleazies and for the media package he donated to the silent auction. I think it also needs to be pointed out that Hotspots is not only a community-involved magazine but it works well with the competition. The Sleazy Awards were sponsored by not only Hotspots but also 411, The Express, and Buzz and I would like to thank them also.

What has chicken wings, chicken chunks, pork bites, Angus sliders, mozzarella moons, fried shrimp and onion rings? If you said the Big Daddy Platter at the Birdcage, thanks, you would be right. Victor and Vicki have worked out the kinks and the food and service is now better than ever. Stop by and try out the 16-ounce rib eye steak, the sliders or their award-winning chili.


Free parking is now back at Dude’s after 6 pm. So you can stop by and use your parking meter money for the hot dancers. (I am sure that they don’t take quarters, though.)

The next Gay Tea Cruise is happening on Sunday, April 6th and will be starring Joe Posa as Liza, Deja, Rod and the other hot boys. There will be hot music, hot food, hot men all aboard the Musette II Yacht between 3-6 pm with a post party at Alibi. For more information go to www.gaycruise.com.

Mark your calendars for April 17-20 for the sixth annual “Where the Bears Are” weekend. Last year's event hosted over 320 bears during the evening and Sunday finale.

This is the premiere event for The Bears of South Florida and the only event open to the public. Details will follow soon.

Another date to add to your calendar is April 20 for the AIDS Walk Miami which is a 3 mile walk starting at 9:00 am from the Miami Beach Convention Center taking a scenic route through the commercial heart of Miami Beach, along the ocean, up Lincoln Road and leading back to the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. The walk is followed by an exciting post-walk celebration with entertainment sponsored by MTV Latin America featuring D.J. HiRO and Life Project, sponsor booths, free massages provided by Miami-Dade College School of Massage, food, drinks, and more. For more information go to www.aidswalkmiami.org



Sleazy and tacky all in the same week and it all happens at Bill’s. On Saturday, March 15, as a benefit for Poverello Center, the state finals for the Miss Thing Contest will be held at Bill’s at 9pm. Winners have been selected in St. Petersburg and 2 from Ft. Lauderdale, — 1 from Bills in August 2007, and 1 from Georgie’s Alibi’s contest held in January 2008. The contest is to find our First Miss Thing Florida and is based on talent, evening and swimwear. Join us for an evening of humor, fashion, campy entertainment and just plain fun. What’s a night without bearded ladies who can kick your butt?

A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his.
Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out, “Business trip or pleasure?”
She turned, smiled and said, “Business. I’m going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston.”
He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs. Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, “What’s your business role at this convention?”
"Lecturer,” she responded. “I use information that I have learned from my personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality.”
"Really?" He said. “And what kind of myths are there?”
“Well,” she explained, “one popular myth is that African-American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait.”
“Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers when actually it is men of Jewish descent who are the best.”
“I have also discovered that the lover with absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck.”
Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. “I’m sorry,” she said, “I shouldn’t really be discussing all of this with you. I don’t even know your name.”
“Tonto,” the man said, “Tonto Goldstein, but my friends call me Bubba.”
