Film Festival Announces Gala Screenings
The 10th Annual Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival has announced the gala screenings and parties for the festival to take place from April 25th to May 4th. The Opening Gala will be on April 25th with the comedy Breakfast with Scot at the Gusman Center. The Centerpiece Screening Gala will feature The Secrets on April 30th at the Colony Theater. The Closing Night Gala will screen Were the World Mine also at the Gusman Center. This year’s festival will also pay tribute to filmmaker Christine Vachon.
The galas planned to take place in Fort Lauderdale will start on May 1st with the documentary Ask Not, concerning the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. The closing gala will feature Call Me Troy and is about Reverend Troy Perry, the founder of the Metropolitan Community Church.

The complete festival schedule is still being finalized and is expected to be finished by the end of the month. Watch this column, “Miami Beat”, here in Hotspots Magazine for further information. For more information for the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, contact the festival at (305) 531-2117 or online at www.mglff.com after April 2.

Errata
A few issues ago we implied that Lambda Passages Bookstore is located at the Club Body Center in Miami. Lambda Passages is not located at Club Body Center, but at 7545 Biscayne Boulevard. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have resulted from misstatement.
‘nite,
Dean
