The tragic, untimely death of my good friend of twenty years has devastated not only myself but the entire South Florida gay community. Michael was an icon and in many ways, he was the one that brought “The Quilt “ to South Florida, and he was the long time coordinator of The Dixie Awards benefit for persons with AIDS. He did so much it would be difficult to mention here everything he accomplished. He was a loyal, true friend and always there for everyone in any situation. A funny, magical man who will never be forgotten. My condolences to his beloved H.G. Roosters family and to the thousands of friends and to his family. Sleep well, sweet prince ‘til we meet again in a better place.

•That “Blow” at the new Johnny’s will be a May event, with former Cathode Ray owner Larry Wald at the helm with the favorite of hundreds, Matt, there also. We wish them the very best of good luck and look forward to the new club. As I predicted some time back, Larry will be back on the scene. Still, at Johnny’s is hottie, Andy, serving his loyal fans in the best way as always.
•That two new hot flicks are opening, “Pistoleros” and “Socket” as my good friend Lewis Tice of TLA releasing tells me. Watch for local openings here and info on the films.
•That Dr Don’s pick of the week is the tall blond Adonis, Mark, the bartender at the new hot spot “Depot” and my fav guy. Dave G. is on board also. The place is packed, just as it was when it was the former location of Bill’s.
•That Michael “Mikey” Bartlett has a huge following at the hot spot, the new Bill’s on Wilton Drive. Everyone loves Mikey! Me included since the old Copa days where he reigned at the patio bar for years. Congrats to super duo, Jackson and Mark for bringing their magic to “The Drive”.
•That the Alibi has a star in bartender, Eric. He’s hot, sexy and a nice guy, too!
•That Vicki Bennett’s “Birdcage” at Boardwalk is serving up some of the finest food in town and do check out the huge “Big Daddy Platter”. It’s enough for five and is awesome! The Lobster Bisque is also to die for!
•That if that dragon’s lips get any bigger she can french kiss Texas!
•That Auntie Mame will soon have breast implants. True, as she told me so!
