Becky Spa – A Bento Box of Beauty 1600 East 8th Ave, A-137 – Centro Ybor – 813-242-4028 – BeckyShop.com Becky’s is a quaint and uplifting spa and when I walked in I was greeted by Lindsey the masseur who took me into my room off the entryway for my first treatment. This 50 minute Elemental Nature Deep Tissue Massage ($60) incorporated hot towels and aroma therapy. This was one of the best massages I have ever had as it was very relaxing. She concentrated on my back, because that’s where I carry most of my stress. As soon as the massage was over, Lindsey started my facial ($60). The facial (which also included aroma therapy using essential oils) was an Aveda green science facial which began with a deep cleanse and tone then a tourmaline charged skin refiner which is Aveda’s natural take on microdermabrasion and exfoliates deep with bamboo extracts to remove dead skin cells and refine skin. The next step was extraction of blackheads. She then applied a green science masque-age which is a massage in mask that moisturizers with organic argan oil and encourages skin to increase natural collagen production. Lindsey finished the facial by applying: green science lifting serum, eye cream, line minimizer, and firming face cream. Hand and foot massages were preformed while masks were processing. It was so soothing because I never had to leave the table for 2 hours. All I had to do was flip once (and you guys in Central Florida know that I only flip for a woman...LOL). All of the spa therapists at Becky are fully licensed in nails, waxing, skin care, and massage which is why they are able to offer duel facial/massage services like the one I received.

The Poseidon Spa is located on the 6th floor of the beautiful Grand Bohemian Hotel in Downtown Orlando. The hotel itself is a celebration of art and music and the spa reflected this as well. The entry/waiting area of the spa was very serene, decorated in a calming color scheme. I was offered a cup of tea and that started off my day of relaxation. I received the Privai Anti Aging Massage service which is a signature Poseidon treatment. The service included a full body Poseidon Massage and exfoliation incorporating ocean ingredients, a tension taming head and scalp treatment, and an anti aging acupressure face treatment with CoQ10. The treatment also included a relaxing décolleté and neck massage which was a wonderful way to complete the experience. The only thing missing from my experience was that I didn’t have a room in the hotel to retire to, maybe next time! Jayson, my masseur, made me aware of the benefits of my treatment which were that the Silk Polishing Powder sloughs off dull skin while promoting circulation and lymphatic drainage. The massage itself is performed with the Antioxidant Repair - an anti-aging blend of pomegranate, rose hip, and green tea typically reserved for use on the face and includes a stimulating face massage that is enhanced with advanced Hyaluronic Matrixyl 3000 Crème - an anti aging crème.
