Dear readers,

We would like to announce an exciting and new media channel coming to our website.. It's called Café Con Leche and it will be LBM's own video channel, providing brief segments on what's going on around town and the latest trends with our very own Vixen Lazorra. We've already shot the first few episodes and from what I can tell, everyone is in for a treat. We would like to thank Babak Movahedi and Luke Hobbs from Mova Lounge for allowing us to shoot our pilot episode in their gorgeous and recently renamed upscale lounge. Please be sure to drop by for their famous mojitos whenever you're South Beach bound. Also, we would like to thank Bruce Horwich from Elite Unlimited and Creative Male for letting us use his brand new store located at 3501 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami to shoot a few more episodes. Lastly, I would like to talk about an issue called “God Save the Drag Queens” which serves as a small reminder of another well-known movement spearheaded by drag queens and a bar. In a nut shell, the Tides Miami Beach has forced the City's hand in stopping the drag performances at The Palace, which is right next door to the hotel, on Sundays during Drag Brunch. Mind you, that although these types of shows have been going on for over 20 years, the Tides' general manager claims that the increased noise levels during drag performances has become an issue for hotel guests and has negatively impacted their bottom line, and not necessarily the economic downturn. The good news for Palace is that generally speaking, the city is on their side and at the end of last month, the commission responded positively in allowing them to continue the shows that have made Palace a staple among locals and tourists alike. Congratulations to the team at Palace, its strong supporters and performers for a job well done!
