Equality, MARCH!

The National Equality March on Washington, DC is October 10th and 11th. This is going to be a very memorable accomplishment for your rights and equal rights for the GLBT and supporting ally community in America. This is a humanitarian issue and you can be a historical part of this monumental movement. We need your support!

Our single demand: Equal protection in all matters governed by civil law in all 50 states.

Our philosophy: As members of every race, class, faith and community, we see the struggle for LGBT equality as part of a larger movement for peace and social justice.

Our strategy: Decentralized organizing for this march in every one of the 435 Congressional districts will build a network to continue organizing beyond October.

The cost of the bus trip, accommodations for 1 night in Washington, DC and food/beverage along the way is $210 per person. If you can’t go but would like to sponsor someone on the trip, please give us a call at MC FILM or contact us through our web site at MCFilmFest.com for more information.

A New Outdoor Cafe

The next big event at Streetcar Charlie’s is coming September 1st – the outdoor sidewalk cafe is opening! Charlie’s will have tables outside on the sidewalk and are also encouraging you to bring your pets for a New GaYBOR experience!

By the way, a little bird told us that Streetcar Charlie’s Turn-A-Bout is coming up on September 12th! It will be interesting to see who turns into what!

Other Dish

Paragon Leather did a great job organizing this year’s Mr. Sawmill Leather Contest. Congratulations to the winners, Mr. Sawmill Leather Sir Tom Maiolo and Sawmill Leather Boy Mark Bailey.

This the first time in several years that we didn’t make it to Fetish Con (FetishCon.com). The event unfolded over several days in Tampa – Ybor City with The Hilton Downtown as the primary host hotel, complete with a very unusual convention – vendor show! Some of the events were held at The Crowbar, The Castle and Czars. On Sunday Pamela and Judy made it to the final night. Judy said, “It didn’t look too much different than a gay bar. Except the men in heels were straight.”
