This Is Hot

Wolfe Video’s hot late-summer DVD release, Dan Castle’s spectacular surfing drama Newcastle, hits the streets August 25th.  This fresh, exciting coming-of-age drama has an amazing young cast that includes: rising star Lachlan Buchanan as top competitive surfer Jesse (a well-known teen heart-throb in Australia, Buchanan is also the star on Season 3 of The WB series Blue Water High); talented Aussie actor Reshad Strik as Jesse’s bad-boy brother Victor (Strik is also starring in the highly-anticipated new Fruit Chan horror flick, Don’t Look Up); and young Aussie star Xavier Samuel as Jesse’s gay brother Fergus, who falls for Jesse’s pal Andy (newcomer Kirk Jenkins). 17-year-old Jesse and his brothers live in the small town of Newcastle. Rising surf star Jesse spends time chasing waves and girls and battling with his resentful older brother, Victor. Jesse’s got the raw talent to surf his way into the international circuit, but can he overcome his equally natural tendency to sabotage himself? On a getaway weekend with Fergus and his mates, Jesse learns what is really important in life. The drama plays out against the stunning backdrop of the Australian surfing scene and features spectacular cinematography. Newcastle is 104 minutes and can be purchased at WolfeVideo.com or locally at the Pride Factory!
