This month, a very talented singer will offer us the opportunity to listen to her music in a very special tour that will take place at various events and clubs in South Florida. Of course, Latino Boys and Hotspots scheduled some time to speak to Marger, a very special Venezuelan woman. While we asked her the questions for this interview, we understood that what made her such a beautiful person is not just her physical appearance, it was also her incredibly good heart and outpour of sentiments that she carries inside of her. These are what she applies to her music and its what drives her to support our gay community.

When and how did you start singing?

I started singing at a very early age. I would imitate American singers like Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson…I also love Donna Summer. I would write my own songs and in general, I would translate the English songs that I liked into Spanish. That’s how I first discovered that I liked to write music, and of course write poems.

Who has inpsired you to move forward with your career?

Faith and certainty that we should all fight for our dreams is what inspires me. There is no obstacle that you should succumb to until you reach the end. The love I feel for music, singing, writing songs, the stage, is my sustenance. To stop doing it is like to abandon part of who I am.

What would you like to transmit with your music or talent?

Positive messages…that people should have fun or that they can identify themselves with the stories I tell. I don’t have any major pretenses except to make those that listen to my music shake, feel, dance and be moved.

“Como Te Digo” is an album that has strong messages about relationships. How were the two first singles, “Como Te Atreves” and “Quiero Que Tu Amor Se Vaya” chosen to represent it?

“Como Te Digo” is the first album of my career and it’s a production that contains a lot of that pent up intensity. The majority of the songs are my own stories, others are of people close to me and of messages I felt were important to share. I chose “Quiero Que Tu Amor Se Vaya” as the first single because it’s one of my favorite songs. It has a catchy rhythm, but at the same time it’s a song about falling out of love, which could define the album. “Como Te Atreves” is one of the strongest ballads on the album, which shows my abilities in singing that genre.

How did it feel to sing at the NGLTF’s Miami Recognition Dinner that honors leaders of the gay community?

I felt incredibly proud to be part of this very important event. I have always supported the community and I think it’s important for people in general to develop more of an awareness of the problems that the gay community faces, among many things the ignorance that continues to bring about so many obstacles and exclusions. Fortunately, thanks to these leaders and those we collaborate with on a daily basis, there is more understanding of these problems faced by the gay community. I thank God, Joe Granda and the NGLTF for allowing me this opportunity to collaborate with my music and at the same time, motivate others to do their small part to change the world and bring about more love and NO DISCRIMINATION..

Tell us about your gay club tour.

I am very excited to be with my people and feel their energy. We will start in Miami and I will end up again in Puerto Rico, where I had already done a marvelous tour.

Any last words for your fans?

I appreciate all the love and support they have given me every day and remind them that we must keep moving forward with our hearts full of faith, a positive mind, always believing in our dreams…always looking ahead. I send them all a big kiss from the bottom of my heart.

¿Cuándo y cómo empezaste a cantar?
