Last Saturday the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) hosted a Red Carpet Gala at the beautiful home of John Evans and Steve Wozencraft located directly on the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale.

The evening started out with a VIP reception on the motor yacht Waterford (moored dockside) and moved into the magnificent home to continue with the festivities.  Alibi Catering sponsored the event led by Chef Vincent and his incredible team. Everything was flawless and the hosts could not have been more proud of the outcome.  Congratulations to everyone at GLADD for continuing your good work in raising the nation’s media standards for fairness, accuracy and inclusion relating to LGBT issues.

Travel packages to New York and San Francisco will also be offered as part of the silent auction, as will weekend packages at luxury south Florida hotels such as the W Fort Lauderdale, Westin Diplomat and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Unique gift options will also be available, including jewelry items and original movie posters from camp classics such as “The Gay Senorita” and “Two Latins from Manhattan.”

“We’re creating a memorable event so guests can have a great time and provide much-needed support to GLAAD,” said B. Rodney White of Hollywood, FL, who co-chairs GLAAD’s South Florida Leadership Council with Maria Lescano. “GLAAD’s work to bring fair and accurate stories of LGBT people and issues to Americans is needed today, especially in Florida.”
