It seems like something is always going on in central Florida. Bands of pirates threaten to invade Tampa during the Gasparilla Pirate Festival and berry farmers showcase their harvest at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Musicians gather for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday while authors mingle with readers at the St. Petersburg Times Festival of Reading. Coming up is Gay Days in Orlando, St. Pete Pride and spring break in Ybor City. The other day I was in Ybor City and I met a fireman from Tampa named Steve – he was like a fireman that you see at the male review show at the Social Club on a Friday night. His body was so hot I was melting as he talked about the runs he went on, his hoses, plugs and rubber boots; afterwards I needed a hosing down. As they say, when you’re in Ybor City you never know who you will meet.

To Your Health – Dr. Max Zaslavsky

Upon sitting down with Dr. Max Zaslavsky we had an immediate bond, not only because of his inviting smile but because we both received our graduate degrees from the same university, and are also both from Brooklyn, NY. “Dr. Max” is friendly, charming, and easy to talk to, which are three key ingredients that are important when you are looking for a dentist. After chatting about our university days and growing up in the NY area, it was a pleasure to conduct this one on one interview with a dentist that truly cares about his patients.
