Hi guys and gals! The column this week is about pride and being proud and I am both. I went to Fort Lauderdale two weeks ago for their Pridefest and was shown some love and pride. I had a wonderful time and met some really nice people of all walks of life. I had the pleasure to meet Anthony Fiorelli and partner Aaron Lamm of the Handy Guys of South Florida. This couple blew me away. They own their business and love each other a lot with 14 years under their belt. They had the joy of adopting a baby girl and they had her with them at the Pridefest.
After seeing this beautiful trio I knew things were changing for Florida. With so many events like Orlando, Tampa, St. Pete and Miami prides all gearing up to have their events, I felt pride for my home state of Florida. I also went to Hotspots’ corporate offices in Oakland Park and was so warmly welcomed. All the guys treated me like a queen and I am very proud to be part of this magazine that brings Florida news and events we need to know about. All my love to South Florida as you have pride and I will see all you guys in April for Miami Pride. I can’t wait! Where is the love? It’s in Florida – we are one state and I am very proud of you all.

Once again Outings & Adventures steps out with a special night at the theater. This time they start at 6:30 pm with delicious appetizers and drinks at downtown hot spot Primi Urban Cafe, then head over to the American Stage Theater for a brilliant performance of the Pulitzer Prize winning hit, “Driving Miss Daisy,” called a “must-see new classic” and “the most-requested play” by American stage patrons, this is very likely to be a sell-out event.“Driving Miss Daisy” is the post-world war II story of a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow (Daisy) and her African-American chauffeur (Hoke), who slowly build a friendship that transcends their differences. The story defines Daisy and her point of view as it relates to her home life, synagogue, friends and family. The play is filled with wit and wisdom and explores the importance of tolerance and love.
