Make you plans to attend the Florida Gay rodeo Association (FGRA’s) Fifth Annual Sunshine Stampede presented by Coors Light. This year the rodeo will be held on the weekend of April 16th through the 18th. The rodeo, which is the largest gay rodeo in the country, will again be held at the Bergereon Rodeo Grounds of Davie, near Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Make you plans to attend the Florida Gay rodeo Association (FGRA’s) Fifth Annual Sunshine Stampede presented by Coors Light. This year the rodeo will be held on the weekend of April 16th through the 18th. The rodeo, which is the largest gay rodeo in the country, will again be held at the Bergereon Rodeo Grounds of Davie, near Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They average 108 contestants each year, and expect to far exceed that number for 2010. Between contestants and officials, the Sunshine stampede has brought in people from over 39 states and four countries.

FGRA is a member association of the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA). There are 28 other member associations located from Toronto all the way west to the Pacific Northwest, Calgary and San Diego. There are around 20 IGRA sanctioned rodeos each year during the season. The season opens with Phoenix in February and concludes with finals in Laughlin, Nevada. Contestants compete during the season to earn points to qualify for finals each year. FGRA contestants have won the All Around Rookie Award two years running, at finals in 2007 and 2008. FGRA currently has upwards of 300 members, both men and women, and is the second largest association in the IGRA ranks.

Our Second Annual Country Western Cruise…FGRA has partnered with Gay Vacation Travel again on their Second Annual Country Western Cruise for 2010. The cruise dates are April 10-15, 2009.
