Believe it or not, the club the re-revolutionized gay life in Tampa , G-Bar, will be celebrating their 5th anniversary on Saturday, November 19th and the Florida Entertainment Group (D. Stephen Moss and Steve Donahue) have some surprises up their sleeves to make this night one you will soon not forget.
The night will star resident DJ Greg Anderson, who has been with Florida Entertainment Group since day 1 and is the program director for the company. While working for FEG Greg has joined the elite group of Billboard reporting DJs.
Speaking of Greg, he has mixed an exclusive 5 year anniversary CD that will be given out free to the first 500 people that attend the anniversary extravaganza.
You are all probably wondering how this fantastic company came about. Well Steve Donahue had been managing night clubs and promoting gay events in Tampa for many years and was looking for someone to open a club of his very own with when he had the fortune of meeting Stephen Moss. They clicked and honestly the rest is history.
G-Bar is known for top named guest DJs such as Alison Calagna, Junior Vasquez, Manny Lehman, Tony Moran, Yannis, Mike Cruz, Twisted Dee and many more; fabulous theme parties decorated by the one and only Matthew Stanoch who is in charge of all visual decor and gave Tampa such memorable parties as High School Locker Room, Gasparilla events and many more; and some famous guest entertainers including Lady Gaga, Stars of Real World, Kim Zolciak, Danny Campbell and many more.
When asked about the 5 year experience Steve Donahue said “Looking back over the 5 wonderful and eventful years that encompass G. Bar’s history, the one thing I will always cherish is in the positive way that we have been allowed to enhance the lives of those in our community. Watching firsthand the many former strangers who bond and form lifelong friendships while enjoying G. Bar is, upon reflection, the greatest success story there is! Individually and collectively, our patrons represent the best in a city already known for its friendliness and warmth. Both Stephen Moss and I are reminded of this on a daily basis from out-of-town visitors who are compelled to seek us out and mention the openness and approachability of everyone they encounter, and the way in which that feeling has left them heading home with an overwhelming desire to return as soon as possible. We’ve been blessed to have had the support of the community from the day we first opened our doors, and we will continue striving to maintain and build on that support while also giving back in meaningful ways. Many charities and community groups have benefited, and will continue to benefit, from the generosity of our customers and staff. Adding to that, the management has always worked diligently to ensure that the value received from a visit to G. Bar far exceeds the cost of entry and a fun night out. Since opening, we have never raised our prices, have repeatedly increased an already generous entertainment budget several times, and have undergone yearly remodels to keep the experience fresh and unexpected. A visit to G. Bar today is far different physically than last year and before, but the sense of being among friends remains constant. It is our combined goal to continue enhancing, evaluating, and even improving the G. Bar experience far into the future. Thanks to everyone for a fantastic 5 years and cheers to the excitement coming in the next five years and beyond!”
In 2012 Florida Entertainment Group will be expanding and will be entering the Gaydays arena in Orlando with a host hotel, pool parties, night time parties and weekend events all around one central theme. They promise a brand new feel for the Gaydays experience.
