It’s time for the 2nd annual “A Toy’s Story 2: A Night for Giving”

This holiday season, Marc Silverstone of Equilibrium Events is hosting the second annual Toy’s Story 2: A Night for Giving, an event that makes it possible for the community to give back to a variety of local charities. Toy’s Story 2 hopes to attract more than 500 guests and anticipates raising upwards of $10,000 in proceeds this year.

After successfully launching the charitable event in 2010, drawing in a crowd of 300 and raising more than $5,000 and 2,000 toys for participating charities, Silverstone has set his goals high; he’s looking to double those numbers this year by encouraging the involvement of a greater assortment of local charities. Ranging from cancer prevention and pet supplies to care and gay rights organizations, this year’s Toy’s Story will offer a reason for everyone to participate.

“The idea is to have the community come out, share a night together, be grateful for what we have, and give to those less fortunate than ourselves,” explains Marc Silverstone, owner of Equilibrium Events and producer/designer of A Toy’s Story 2: A Night for Giving.

“By involving so many varied charities, we hope to draw in support for each of these significant causes and collect unwrapped toys for the children in our community whose lives have unfortunately been touched by tragedy in one way or another.”

This unforgettable evening will include a silent auction with items such as vacation getaway packages and concierge event design, all proceeds collected from the auction will benefit Broward House. Local businesses will also be contributing to the holiday cheer by decorating elaborate holiday wreaths that will be auctioned off. In an effort to familiarize guests with the local participating charities, a “Room of Giving” will provide information promoting opportunities to volunteer and donate. The evening will feature special appearances by the Gay Men’s Chorus and Delfrida.

A Toy’s Story 2: A Night for Giving will benefit charities including SunServe, Broward House, Kids in Distress, SMA, Pet Project, Kids in Distress Dental Program, Knock Out Cancer, and The Covenant House. The event will take place at The Manor in Wilton Manors, Florida on December 14th, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are currently available for $10 (each) plus an unwrapped toy the day of the event. At the door, tickets will be sold for $15 (each) plus an unwrapped toy. One-hundred percent of the proceeds collected during the evening (including earnings collected from ticketing) will be donated.
