lgbt-events-south-florida-0Tuesday night was the monthly Mack Mixer in Boca this month held at Seasons 52 (great food, low calories) and as usual had a very nice turn out. Thursday night was the 24th anniversary of The Palace Bar in South Beach, the oldest gay bar on the beach. The 24th anniversary brought everyone out as the Palace was packed with well wishers and featured performance by Noel Leon, Tiffany Fantasia, Missy Meyakie, Shanaya Bright and Latrice Royale and featured the sounds of DJ Cindel. Congrats to owner Tom, General Manager Jerry and the entire Palace staff for a phenomenal anniversary party and here’s hoping they have 24 more years of success! Friday night Score had a video release party for Gloria Estefan’s Hotel National and Gloria herself made a surprise appearance to introduce the video.

Sunday was the Super Bowl 46 and it seemed like every bar was having parties celebrating the most watched event of the year. Originally from New York City, you can only imagine how ecstatic I was when the Giants won! This was really, in my opinion, one of the best Super Bowl games of all times! I started out at the Tail Gate party at Sidelines (saw my buddy Hernan from Brown Forman there) in the parking lot. This is a great concept that I am sure is going to be mobbed next year. Then I headed over to The Depot Cabana Bar and Grill to watch the game. I had a fabulous cheese burger from their kitchen…YUMMY! They the put out a tray of delicious food that I will have to spend hours in the gym to work off… LOL!

After the Madonna half time show which was so fabulous I have no words for (yes, I know that’s a first!) I went back to Sidelines to watch the rest of the game and celebrate. From what I hear all the bars had good crowds, but Sidelines was wall to wall people, the busiest I have ever seen it! Congrats to Laurie, Jennifer and their entire staff!
