What makes B-Home unique in the local design arena is that it provides tiered levels of service that are custom made for each client around his/her unique budget and design needs. They don’t rep product lines, there isn’t a cookie cutter approach, and no job is too small. Homeowners may receive help with space planning, color coordination, functionality, material recommendations, and personal shopping for specific items that will help complete a space. Through each job, they strive to bring purpose, balance and passion both to homes and homeowners by providing affordable and customized interior design consultation services to those who wish to transform their homes into the reflection of who they are at their very best.

Their clients love the fact that they can affordably and quickly create “new” living spaces by reimagining and rearranging the items they already have. At B-Home, they call this “giving your home a “Spa Day” – restoring the luster and rejuvenating what is tired. Sometimes the key to being happy with your home is not overspending on new décor and architectural elements, but by revisiting what you already have and falling in love with it again.

When asked about the design trends this season, David Bolus, owner of B-Home, said that trends are not at all what B-Home is about.

“We don’t create residential spaces based on cultural or geographic parlance alone. Rather, we believe that a home design should do two things well – it should offer a unique insight into the character of its owners, and it should stand the test of time…after all, you shouldn’t have to change home design like you change your clothes,” Bolus said.

The most popular service at Island City Traders is providing their clients with a complete interior design package utilizing some of the finest as well as competitively priced home furnishings and accessories.

“One of the things their clients like best is the ability to complete their project without the use of third party purchasing commissions and our method of presentation which enables the clients to approve all the selections and costs involved for the entire project before anything is ordered,” said Principal and interior designer of Island City Traders, Bill Philby.

Philby said that one of the biggest current trends is towards a more relaxed and natural interior with the emphasis being placed on the family’s lifestyle instead of their possessions. Reclaimed, distressed woods, leathers, textures, metals and organic materials are extremely popular especially with clients who entertain often or have children or pets.

“The design flavor is primarily transitional to contemporary, appealing to men and women alike,” he said. “Neutral colors dominate the larger pieces while the artwork and accessories add a spark of color.”

He said that larger scaled homes are now trending towards smaller scale, personalized rooms with a greater amount of attention towards architectural details and moldings.

“Many people are choosing to remodel their existing homes than rather purchasing new ones, customizing them with state-of-the-art media and security systems, outdoor living spaces, gourmet kitchens and baths, and quality flooring such as stone or wood,” Philby explained.
