When asked about the latest design trends, Vice President of Merchandising Mike Ptaszek said that some of the biggest design trends this season are bright and bold colors and furniture and pillows trimmed with Swarovski Crystals.

Gonzales said that lately there’s a lot of solid painting requests. Some of the paint brands like Behrs from Home Depot, have developed the paint and primer in one which is a great product for saving time money and sometimes makes the work faster.
When asked about trends, Gonzales also said that colors are very personal.
“We all have different taste about it, but nowadays earth tone colors are used often. Like the family of the browns and greens,” he said. “Some other clients like more colors and contrasting. He said that accent walls are also very popular and give a great contrast in areas like living rooms and bedrooms.

“They are now combining antique dressers and funky, modern Lucite lamps,” he said.

“This is used not only on floors, but walls,” he added.

He said that larger scaled homes are now trending towards smaller scale, personalized rooms with a greater amount of attention towards architectural details and moldings.
“Many people are choosing to remodel their existing homes than rather purchasing new ones, customizing them with state-of-the-art media and security systems, outdoor living spaces, gourmet kitchens and baths, and quality flooring such as stone or wood,” Philby explained.
