whats hot sf 07After a successful national theatrical release, Kenneth Del Vecchio’s An Affirmative Act – the first-ever courtroom drama about the legalization of gay marriage – is now available on iTunes and DVD. This historic film, released by Screen Media Films and Universal, will be available on VOD beginning December 4. Starring multiple Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees, An Affirmative Act tackles the illegality of gay marriage head-on. In this thriller, a lesbian couple are arrested and prosecuted for fraudulently marrying as a “man and woman” in order to obtain equal benefits. Several states had same-sex marriage on their ballots this November, and Kenneth Del Vecchio – a Renaissance Man filmmaker/author/former judge who has brazenly produced one star-filled controversial film after another – created An Affirmative Act as an effort to change the law. LGBT publication Go Magazine wrote, An Affirmative Act is a masterpiece of artistic commentary.” Echelon Magazine proclaimed the film, “A riveting courtroom drama guaranteed to inflame the passions of the masses.”  This landmark film stars Charles Durning (2-time Academy Award, 4-time Golden Globe, 9-time Emmy winner & nominee), Blanche Baker (Emmy winner; Sixteen Candles), Costas Mandylor (Saw movies; The Pledge), Justin Deas (6-time Emmy winner), Randy Jones (Cowboy – “The Village People”), Robert Clohessy (“Boardwalk Empire”; “Oz”), Thomas G. Waites (And Justice For All; The Thing), Rachael Robbins (O.B.A.M. Nude), Jackie Martling (“The Howard Stern Show” ), and Eric Etebari (“Witchblade”; The Lincoln Lawyer).
