Following its acclaimed December launch with American Idol star Kimberley Locke, the Cabaret by the Bay Series presented by the City of Aventura at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center continues its blockbuster inaugural season in the New Year offering a fresh take on the classic art form with remarkable women sharing stories, songs, and their own unique perspectives on the world of entertainment.

cabaret lindsay Blood, Sweat and Mouseketears! with Lindsey Alley begins the New Year on Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19 at 8 p.m.  This wonderful new revue of music from the Disney Songbook is presented from the unique and hilarious perspective of former Mousketeer Lindsey Alley who began her career on the Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.  Called “a force to be reckoned with,” by Broadway World, Alley sings such favorites as “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “Someday My Prince Will Come,” as well as new favorites like “Part of Your World” and “Go the Distance,” as she shares stories about her quest for the elusive “happily ever after.”  NYTheatre.com raves, “Alley is a terrific vocalist and her autobiographical show is sweet, and winsome!”

cabaret carla Puerto Rican born cabaret star Carla Bordonada performs some of Broadway’s greatest Latin inspired blockbusters in Canciones de Broadway with Carla Bordonada on Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16 at 8 p.m. In a captivating show that is presented mostly in English, with un poco de especias latina, Bordonada explores such thrilling Broadway shows as West Side Story, Man of LaMancha, Evita, and In the Heights performing their greatest hits including “Somewhere,” “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” “Impossible Dream” and more,  With a voice that sounds gorgeous in any language, she is a favorite of South Florida audiences and has been called a “Increíble talento!” by El Nuevo Herald and of possessing “A voice that thrills audiences!” by WSVN Deco Drive.

 cabaret sallyThe Cabaret by the Bay Series culminates with multiple Emmy-Award winning actress, spokeswoman, comedienne and personality Sally Struthers taking the stage with words, song, stories, tears and laughter on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. One of the funniest performers of our time, she is best known for her multiple Emmy Award winning role as Gloria on the iconic show that changed television forever, All in the Family. In addition to her vast credits on television, Struthers has also appeared in multiple feature films and on Broadway in Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple (female version), Grease, and as Miss Hannigan in Annie. In this intimate evening, she takes audiences on a journey starting with her days growing up in Portland, Oregon where she sang in school the naughty songs her dad taught her and the silly ones her mom wrote to her.  From starting out as the “most promising student” at the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts to working on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and The Tim Conway Comedy Hour, to dating Elvis Presley, to the crazy audition process for All in the Family, she introduces us to all of the famous people in her life along the way. She also explores her years in the theater with some of her favorite songs as well as the travails and joys of being a mom.

 Renowned cabaret pianist Rick Leonard serves as musical director and joins the artists in the series. Author of IT’S A FABULOUS LIFE, David Sexton will serve as the series Artistic Director.
