Since I get to Central Florida a lot for the magazine I have known of Lady Guy for many years. She was always in the clubs around Orlando in her wild and outrageous outfits. However, there are three things that Lady Guy always wears: The Lady Guy necklace, Sunglasses and a smile. Every time I saw her I knew she was having fun. My favorite memory of Lady Guy was in the Orlando Pride Parade where she would have her own convertible sitting on the back waiving to everyone. She was such a staple of the Orlando nightlife that I was surprised when I heard she was moving to South Florida a year ago. Why did she move to South Florida? Read on as I had the pleasure of interviewing Lady Guy on the heels of her first single.

  1. When was the first time you thought about dressing up, and where and when was the first time you dressed up?

When I was a child I used to try on my mom’s heels and the thought process began. The first time I actually dressed I was 20 in Jacksonville Florida.

  1. How did you pick your name?

DJ Brianna from the Parliament House gave me my name.

  1. What and where was the first time you were on stage/hostess?

I did Miss Parliament House Newcomer in 2008, which was the first time I ever did a show as I am more of a hostess/personality.

  1. What was your first steady gig as a hostess?

Lucky Tuesday’s with Paul Anderson at Rain.

  1. How does your family react to Lady Guy?

My parents are so supportive and they have even come to my events. My mom even helps me make costumes.

  1. Name some of the clubs/events you have worked at?

There have been many but to name a few: Lucky Tuesdays, Parliament House, Back Door Bumby at Revolution, Typhoon Lagoon during Gay Disney, and currently I am the door hostess at the Manor on Fridays and Saturdays.

  1. How did you get involved in Music?

I always loved music as it creates so many emotions, so it is something I wanted to do for a long time. The Lady Guy persona is known to be in the nightclubs and on the dance floor, so music just seemed like the next natural step.

  1. How did you and Oren Nizri meet?

I met Oren through George Coronado (Give Me A Beat Productions) and he hooked us up.

  1. Did you move to South Florida a year ago to pursue your music?

As much as I love and truly miss my Orlando family the opportunities for my music career seemed stronger in South Florida.Lady Guy-pic1

  1. The name of your first single (“My Moment to Shine”) is so telling about your future, but tell me about the writing process and the recording process?

Oren and I wrote it together, it was a complete collaboration.  The theme behind the song is about being on the dance floor and shinning. It was recorded in Miami and it was so exciting to be part of the process. Even hearing my voice the first time with music behind it sent chills up and down my body as my dream was being accomplished.

  1. Tell me about making the video for the song?

I wanted the video to be totally Lady Guy. I wanted it to be fun, colorful and show off Lady Guys’ style.

  1. Tell me about the man behind Lady Guy?

Man, what man? I am much more calm and conservative, which lets me use all my creativity for Lady Guy.

  1. Describe Lady Guy in 5 words?

Fun, colorful, creative, happy and fabulous!

  1. What does the future hold for Lady Guy?

I really look forward to doing more music projects and bringing joy to the world one person at a time! I am already in talks about the next track, so stay tuned!
