Genesis Health Institute has been open since 2007. Ferdinand Cabrera, M.D., the president of the practice, is board certified in Anti-Aging Medicine, holds an advanced fellowship in Functional and Regenerative Medicine, and is a faculty member at the Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. With over 25 years of practical medical experience, Dr. Cabrera specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy; Intravenous Nutrition Therapy; Weight Management and Facial Aesthetics. We asked the doctor and his partner and office manager Dimitri Bakoulis some questions to find out more about the practice.
Hotspots Magazine: Tell us about Genesis—when you opened and some of the changes and additions through the years.
Genesis Health Institute specializes in the treatment of age related diseases using state-of-the-art testing and treatment. Our objective is to prevent many age related diseases from ever occurring rather than treating them once they occur. We want our patients to live a long and very high quality of life. It is true preventative medicine. We opened our practice in 2007 and have added several therapies since opening such as IV Nutrition therapy, Sciton Laser treatments and a lifestyle change for weight management.
Please tell us about the therapies that you specialize in – a little about each one.
We offer a variety of both medical and aesthetic treatments:
Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy or BHRT is one that we specialize in. This therapy is very popular with both men and women. Both live with menopause or andropause symptoms which include lack of interest, energy, memory, and sex drive. Most people come to accept these symptoms as part of getting older. We believe that we cannot stop the process of aging, however with our therapies we can make you look and feel as though we did. BHRT is one way to replenish our body’s sex hormones back to the levels we enjoyed in our late twenties and early thirties. The most dramatic changes our patients report are; more energy, loss of weight, sharper thinking, and greater sex drive.
Another important hormone we test for is growth hormone. We offer different forms of this hormone therapy starting with a pre-curser which basically tells your body to produce more of its own growth hormone. It is a very cost effective form and is used sublingually so there are no injections or refrigeration required. We also offer two different types of replacement HGH therapy for patients with medical necessity.
Intravenous Nutrition Therapy is an amazing treatment that optimizes your immune system directly through your blood. We use a multitude of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that nourish every cell of your body. Keeping your body and immune system strong is the key to fighting off inflammation which is the number one cause of most disease.
What is the most popular service that you offer?
BHRT, for sure. Our community is filled with age 40 and up that want to retain their youthful looks and energy levels. Testosterone therapy is very easy to administer and very inexpensive to get started with.
What may surprise readers about Genesis—perhaps something they wouldn’t know.
What I hear most often is how affordable the therapy is. Our goal is to see a healthy and happy community. We are honored to be part of it and in the five years we have been in practice have earned the trust of over 550 patients. This makes us feel very part of the community.
What are some of the latest innovations in your field?
We are looking forward to introducing Energy Medicine and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapies to our practice in the next few months. Both are really state-of-the-art and promise great result in both how we feel and look.
Do you take insurance?
We accept payment at time of service and do not bill insurance. We are considered an out of network provider for those with insurance. We do provide an invoice with procedural and diagnostic codes to submit through to your insurance company for reimbursement.
