The Alibi, the bar that started the gay invasion into Wilton Manors will be celebrating their 16th anniversary from Wednesday, May 15 through Saturday, May 18 with the theme: Midnight in the Garden of Alibi. On Wednesday, during Game Show night, Nikki Adams will be giving away Anniversary T-Shirts. On Friday they will have a VIP meet and Greet with Lady Chablis (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) at 9 pm followed by their annual Alibi 5 year employee ring ceremony on the main stage. On Saturday, Lady Chablis performs at 10 pm with a grand prize giveaway of a trip for 2 to beautiful Savannah, Georgia (where the film was shot). The trip includes a hotel room, dinner at the famous “The Olde Pink House” and a bar tab for Club One (where Lady Chablis performs).

When did you start performing in Drag?
My 1st drag show was in the early 70’s in Tallahassee Fla. at a club called The Foxtrot. It was back in the days when you had to be careful of being gay and wearing a dress was even harder.
What made you decide to write a book (Hiding My Candy) and how was the process?
The advance that was offered for me to write the book was the deciding factor. $$$$$$$$$$! The process was like peeling layers of an onion. It brought back things I had forgotten, good and bad.
Tell me about making the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil?
Making the movie was great, I had the chance to work with the butchest director in Hollywood, Clint Eastwood, and I got to ad lib the whole movie. My name on the set was “The One Take Wonder”!
You have won many titles. Which was your favorite and why?
My favorite title is “Grand Empress of Savannah.” Why, because it’s almost like being the Mrs. Mayor of Savannah.
Are you excited about your performance in South Florida, and what should the audience expect?
Overly excited about my performance in Fla. Florida is my home state. I was born and raised in Quincy. What the audience should not expect is a Disney production, I am far from that.

Coliseum will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary on Saturday, May 18th with a themed party entitled Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas including a fashion show by the Coliseum Glamazons as well as a Casino set up where you can play Black Jack, Slots, and Roulette (for fun only).
