This week we say goodbye to 2013 and a hearty hello to 2014. So I thought, “Why not give you a column chock full with events that do just that?” So this column is expanded and includes all the New Year’s Eve listings you could want! Lots of love to you all and I wish lots of happiness to you in the new year.
Tuesday December 31
Party with Bradley’s on 7th in Tampa and experience their non-stop timed countdown, which will incorporate video and performances from their show cast, interspersed with a live feed from Times Square at midnight. You can thank DJ Don Lamb for putting that together! The special guest for the evening is Electra, direct from Fort Lauderdale!
Enjoy New Year’s Eve with a dinner at Hemingway’s (part of the Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg). Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and features steak and lobster! After dinner, stay for the music, featuring DJs located inside the bars and outside near the pool. The last drag show of the year will go on at 10:30 p.m.
Sawmill Resort in Dade City presents “New Year’s in the Woods,” featuring adult film star Michael Brandon. There will also be a balloon drop with cash and prizes totaling $2,000. And what would ringing in the new year be like without a complimentary champagne for toasting?
BarCodes Orlando is celebrating the new year by giving away fun prizes throughout the evening. Some of the prizes include $500 in cash and a two-night stay at the Flamingo Resort in St. Petersburg! Everyone gets free party favors so they can ring in 2014 as loud as possible (I know that’s my favorite, I like the whistles!).
Parliament House in Orlando is open until 4 a.m., allowing you to make lots of fun memories well into 2014! The acclaimed Footlight Players will perform a Best of 2013 show at 10 p.m. and an all-new Welcome to 2014 show at 1:30 a.m.! Guess who will be performing right at midnight? Singer Kimberley Locke, who you may know well from the TV series American Idol and Celebrity Fit Club. She will be on hand to sing hits such as “Eighth World Wonder” and “Band of Gold.” For VIP reservations, go online to parliamenthouse.com.
Also open until 4 a.m. is Pulse in Orlando, which promises to put on one sickening show with special guest Laganja Estranja from RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s upcoming sixth season. She will join Pulse’s regular show cast: Drag Race season 5 alum Roxxxy Andrews, Miss Gay USofA at Large Angelica Sanchez, Axel Andrews and Kai’Ja Adonis. Balloon drop is at midnight!

Over in Tampa, you can see the performances of Esme Russell, Delores Van Cartier, Summer Alexander and Amanda D’Rhod. Call ahead for reservations.
Now let’s head on over to Church Street Station, where Hamburger Mary’s in Orlando will have the bingo ladies Miss Sammy and Carol Lee hosting a drag show that promises to be fun for everyone! Seating is at 9 p.m. with their show starting at 10. Everyone will be given a champagne flute to toast the New Year! Call ahead for reservations.
New Year’s Eve in Wonderland is the theme for the last night of the year at The Broken Tusk in St. Petersburg. Jaeda Fuentes will be hosting the bar’s 10 p.m. show, and she will be joined by the talented Iman and Naomi Wynters. Music by DJ Bobby Valentine.
In the mood for a glow party? So is Georgie’s Alibi in St. Petersburg! Glow in the New Year with the staff and patrons at Georgie’s, starting at 10 p.m. Join hostess Kori Stevens for a night of fun! Body painting is offered by Sarah Turner; it’s free, but be kind and tip!
Revolution in Orlando joins the other establishments in town that are keeping their doors open until 4 a.m. As always, there are three rooms with their own unique moods, and also their own unique musical sounds. Join Lisa Lane, Maya Andrews, Chevelle Brooks and Sasha Colby for two fierce shows.
The Brink in Orlando is expecting a lot of people for New Year’s…so many that they want you to buy tickets in advance! Tickets are priced at $30 and $50 and the upper price tier includes open bar all night and complimentary souvenirs. Call (407) 388-4384 for more information.
The Honey Pot in Tampa prides itself on throwing some over the top events for New Year’s Eve, but this one may be their most creative one yet. They will be presenting their first annual Masquerade Ball, so please bring your own mask (or they have some available for you to choose from at the party!). Special guest DJ Ranny is back for another New Year’s celebration, with well-known Ybor DJ Charles Machado playing the opening set. Join hostess Amy DeMilo for the countdown to midnight!
The Eve of Magnificence will be inaugurated this evening at Liquid Tampa. Join DJs Greg Anderson and Power Infiniti as they play the music which will get everyone in the mood to party like it’s…well, like it’s 2013 (but only until midnight!). There will also be a 3-D light show, and performances by Conundrum, Nae Nae Dominatrix and Lady Janet.
Come party with some hot men at Quench Lounge in Largo! There will be live male dancers (and I’m told that there are private dances available!). Spicy! Stay for the balloon drop featuring cash and prizes at midnight. Billboard Magazine reporting DJ Bruce Devery will be playing your favorites.
If live music is your thing, then don’t miss The Black Honkeys (who you may have seen at the Rock AIDS benefit at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa last month). They will be performing at Kelly’s Chic-a-Boom Room/Blur Nightclub in Dunedin. DJ Gus will be providing the music before and after the live performance. Reserve a table by calling (727) 736-0206.
It’s a show all about Britney Spears at Throb in Sarasota, the southern Suncoast’s largest gay entertainment complex. The talented Shontelle Sparkles will be impersonating Britney in her performances this evening. Come on out and watch her and her dancers ring in 2014. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Now let’s move to New Port Richey…where six Cribari Night Club cast members will be putting on one last show for the year, starting at 11:15 p.m. Monica Malone, Nia Gabrielle, Rozz Markell, Summer Breeze, Bobbie Lake and Kaotica Divine will make sure you have so much fun…you just might forget about midnight! (No, that won’t happen, there will be a champagne toast!)
Miss Large and Lovely Daphne Ferraro will be in New Port Richey as well, performing at Chill Chamber. Daphne is the special guest on this momentous night, joining regular cast members Raven Lace, Stephanie Stuart and Yvonne Divana. A spectacular opening production is promised!
You know and love Ginger Minj and The Minx from their Broadway Brunch each Sunday afternoon at Hamburger Mary’s in Orlando, but on New Year’s they will be presenting a Grease-themed party at The Ultra Lounge in Cocoa! Grease is the word as these ladies and other special guests perform some of your favorite songs from the movie and musical. “Summer Nights,” anyone?
