Emmy Award-winning comedienne, author and TV personality Joan Rivers is making another trip to South Florida. The Fashion Police hostess brings her comedy routine to the Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. Concert Hall at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach for one night only. She will be gracing the stage on Thursday, March 13, starting at 8 p.m.

After 50 years in show business, Joan Rivers still showcases an irreverent sense of humor, coupled with a viper tongue and a biting wit. The woman best known for such introductory phrases as “Can we talk?” and “Who are you wearing?” first became a household name in 1965, when she made the first of dozens of appearances on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. She became a permanent guest host for The Tonight Show in 1983, an arrangement which ended when Rivers got the chance to host her own late night show on the then-fledgling Fox network.

She became the first — and so far, the only — female host of a late night program on American television, and while her ratings never did match Carson’s, Fox did have a hit on their hands for a few seasons, which they needed as they were getting off the ground. Rivers jumped to daytime with her eponymous talk show The Joan Rivers Show, which lasted for four years from 1989-1993.

Today she is perhaps best-known for her appearances on the E! entertainment network as a red carpet staple, judging the fashion of today’s stars with her daughter, Melissa, at her side. She is also host of the aforementioned series Fashion Police, flanked by panelists Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos. Joan’s judgment isn’t just for awards shows anymore; A-list stars have reason to be scared of her and her wrath if they’re wearing fashion-don’ts any time of year!

Joan Rivers’ appearance at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is sponsored by Leonardo and Sunny Sessa. Tickets for Rivers’ March 13 appearance start at $25 and can be purchased either in person at the Box Office (701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach) or via the telephone at (561) 832-7469. The Box Office is open from Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until curtain time the day of the performance.
